Ask An Alex Live Timechange & Anniversary Episode

Postby Alex Steacy » 30 Sep 2009, 22:25

So with me being in Victoria for the next couple of months, its beginning to dawn on me that LRR operation and my show are sort of colliding. While it is fun and cool to have lots of the crew drop in (and sometimes commandeer the entire show), I think in the long run it would be best for my show and for their work that this not become a regular disruption.

To that end, I would like to test people's opinion of moving the show's broadcast time/date to:

Every Sunday at 7:00EST, 4:00PST

This is one day in the week later, and one hour earlier. My hope is that this will free up Saturdays, not interfere with LRR, give our international viewers more sleep... The list goes on.

What I need from the fans is some feedback and insight to see if this will actually fly.

Furthermore, Ask An Alex live will be broadcasting its 1 year anniversary, episode 54 either on Saturday, October 17th, or Sunday, October 18th pending on the results of this poll and its sister poll in the eximworks forum.

Hope to see everyone in the upcoming shows and in season 2!

PS: If you're hazy on who I am or what Ask An Alex is, please consult this thread.

Yeah, I've never actually known when the episodes are, so I've never seen it either. But Saturday I'll be bowling, so Sunday is perfect.

Saturday might be better than Sunday for Brit viewers, because most of us need to be up early on Monday; commute etc.

Or commandeer one, Graham... or at least be in it in a non-cursory fashion.

If you did that, I'd be a fan for life.
And I'd recommend you for a knighthood.

Great... I'd have to be up until 2 am on Mondays instead of 3 am on Sundays. Well I never make it right now anyways since I'm usually to tired and fall asleep before it starts.

Works for me, but there's few times when I'm not free.

Well how about this - Sundays at 6:00EST, 3:00PST, with more reliable (ie: taped on our end) show recordings available for replay?

That way if you missed it, you could watch at your own convenience - maybe keep last week's episode up for a week and then file it away into archive?

You lowered the EST and not the PST? Are you in a time warp?

I like 6 EST a LOT, because that means it doesn't happen when I eat dinner. (we have dinner at 7 or 7:30, cuz my family is weird)
I can put my hands in my head, and I can laugh it in the face.

I might have a better chance of actually remembering this...as long as I remember what day of the week I'm on...

Alright. Based on the feedback from this thread and its sister thread on the Eximworks forum - I'm going to go ahead with the timechange effective at once, so tune in:

Sundays at 6:00EST/3:00PST

See you all on Sunday!

I dunno if I'd be able to make it for this weeks at that time, depending on how early I late my Sunday morning starts. I should be able to tune in. =)
