Happy Tofurkey day Canada!!
Happy Tofurkey day Canada!!
Thats right.
Its that time of year again where 1000's of Canadian tofurkeys are brutally cut down in their prime and served at the dinner table of yet another senseless holiday thought up by our local grocers.
Happy Tofurkey murder day Every one!
Now, enjoy some Ellen Paige!

I had chicken thighs and breasts for dinner. That's cuz I'm American and the REAL Thanksgiving is over a month away. SUCK IIIIIT!
Naturally I keed. Hell, I'd move to Seattle, make friends in Canada, and come over to celebrate with you. I love any holiday that revolves around gluttony and food snobbery.

Yeaaah...
I think Canadian Thanksgiving used to have something to do with being a harvest festival...
Now it's really just that people like eating Turkey...Or Tofurkey..Butya.
I'm stoked regardless. Turkey's delicious.

A) It's not _Canadian_ Thanksgiving, its "the lame version of thanksgiving" luckily we also have REAL thanksgiving dinner, too, because my dad agrees with me, and thus I get thanksgiving twice. Woo.
B) my girlfriend's dad made steak and kidney pies, and cornish game hens to celebrate. Such a good Canadian, isn't he?

Okay, the reason Canada and the U.S. celebrate Thanksgiving at different times is simply due to differing latitudes: the growing season ends sooner the further North you go. You'd have your big 'Harvest Feast' when your local growing season ends. Q.E.D.
Oh, and whether it's Columbus Day or Thanksgiving is unimportant - it's my WIFE'S BIRTHDAY!

Re: Happy Tofurkey day Canada!!
We don't eat turkey on thanksgiving... my parents' philosophy is that we can eat turkey any day of the year, so on Thanksgiving we eat something "fancy" like shrimp and crabcakes or steak.
Also, I'm not really a fan of Turkey. It just seems blah to me

I had tofurkey a week or two ago, was pretty bad in my opinion.
I'd much rather stick with the real thing.

Re: Happy Tofurkey day Canada!!
I had a great turkey yesterday - with mountains of stuffing, stir-fried brussels sprouts with water chestnuts, garlic, and honey, candied yams (my own creation), mashed taters, carrots, and gravy. Nom nom nom.
As well, I prefer the Canadian timing of Thanksgiving because it leaves more than a month until the next turkey gluttonfest (Christmas).
