Re: The Big Relationship Thread
How much is too much for you? I'm quite the opposite, and prefer to get 8-9 hours if I can.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I am the same in that too much sleep is bad for me, on the other hand too much sleep means over 12 hours, and too little sleep means under 10 hours.
My problem is that my boyfriend goes to bed at 3 or 4 (to get up at 8:30) and although I tried going to bed at different times, it has never worked out (we both end up feeling sad and hurt).
Right now it's not much of an issue because I don't work, so I just get up at 3-4pm, when I naturally wake up. But it could prove to be a big problem later on.

9 is too much. I got seven last night and I am quite happy.

I normally sleep for 8, or until the alarm, whichever comes first.
Got confused as hell this morning though because I forgot about the clocks changing.

It doesn't matter if I sleep 6 hours or 14, I'm always exhausted. It's kind of a permanent state for me. My tea intake keeps me functioning.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I can function effectively on 4hrs of sleep, but not for more than about 4-5 days in a row. I do best on 6-8hrs of sleep, but if I get 8hrs after usually getting 4-6hrs a night, it can make me feel more sleepy.
More than 8 hours is usually bad for me, leading to drowsiness and headaches, except in special circumstances which I have no understanding of... my body just randomly seems to decide when it's ok, and doesn't warn me ahead of time.
Overall, I wish I didn't have to sleep at all, it seems like such a waste of time

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
Things have only been getting better for me. I had a small gathering of friends Friday to celebrate my birthday. She had work, so she wasn't able to come out to the Hibachi grill, but afterwards we went to my friends house, and I convinced her to come out. My frineds had been doing a bit of drinking, and despite not being a drinker, like myself, she wasn't at all put off by this. She even got to talk to my best friend for a little bit, and she wasn't horrified by some of his stories. And that is a big deal with him.
Every time she looked away, he made hand gestures like he was pushing our heads together and mouthed the word kiss. She caught him doing it, but she laughed a bit. All in all, it went very well. She still hasn't seen him as his worst, but I think she could handle it.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
So thanks to those of you who recommended OKCupid. I've got a profile set up on there now and it's actually recommending people with similar interests.
In fact it did such a good job that I broke my decision of using it passively and waiting for people to message me. No response yet though.
Those of you who care enough to go look probably have enough information to find my profile (publicly viewable without signing in). Feedback is welcome.

But... you're already ON the forums!
Necro quote but I realise I forgot to respond to this. The legendary matchmaking powers of this forum have yet to manifest for me. Maybe somebody should set up an official dating thread...

I started this one and even I think that'd be a little creepy.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
For a dating thread to work, there would need to be someone ballsy enough to take on the job of match-maker, otherwise people would just be awkwardly posting in a thread about their singleness.
Having played matchmaker in real life before, I resolutely declare: "Not it!". And for good measure, I am already touching my nose.

I'd like to volunteer me and my god complex as matchmaker.
I think my ego can take it.

Keab - Take a hand a rewriting the first section. While everything you say IS factual, it also carries some negative connotations. Try to keep it positive, or people won't read past the first paragraph.

@keab
I'm hardly omnipresent. I mean, I have the potential to be everywhere in time, but certainly not everywhere in space.
That said, plaid boxers, socks, and a t-shirt.
@gunner
Match away, big boy. Just gimme someone who I can have fun with.

I shall match you, Alja-Markir, with yourself...from five seconds in your future!
The sex should be interesting, at least.
