Re: The Big Relationship Thread
Back in the day England referred to England, Scotland and Wales.
Wales was Annexed several hundred years ago and so was no longer a country (hence why it isn't on the flag). Wales is now considered a country, not sure when it was UnAnnexed.

Sometime between 1967 and 1978 as the various articles of the Wales and Berwick Act of 1746 were repealed.

That means the English are the most tolerant people in the world. We must be if we all live so close to each other with so much hate.

Hey, Fuck her, man. She ain't worth the worry. I'm also guessing she's the one who told you about it, since she's so far away. She's a bitch for telling you. There was no reason for that. She doesn't know how awesome you are. So again, fuck her.

No, we're still friends on Facebook and I was on her page (having removed her from the list of people and pages which appear automatically on my front page in case she decided to spew anger and hatred) and saw. It wasn't even a week. I'm starting to seriously doubt all the times she claimed to love me above all the others..

I had been feeling guilty about meeting a really cute Irish girl working in an old fashioned sweet shop here in Chester who I was wondering about asking if she'd like to hang out and get to know one another...

Like, I'm usually not a supporter of the belief that you have to wait a certain period of time to date again, but come on. I can't even have a full conversation with someone in that amount of time.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I have somewhat unexpectedly been thrust into the position of matchmaker - Liz, who I sort of knew as a friend of a friend, has been gradually getting friendlier and friendlier with my mate Andy over the past 6 months or so during our fortnightly-ish pub visits. Tonight when I happened to be chatting to Liz alone she asked me to assist her hook up with him. Now I've no issue or anything in facilitating this, but Andy can be a hard guy to read at times, can get quite grumpy when tired (tends to work long or late hours in the STV news studio) and is generally fairly reserved. Meanwhile Liz is outgoing and outspoken, but I know Andy likes her a fair amount as well.
Liz thinks it'll be best for her to make a move on a night when he's drinking (note, not necessarily drunk, just more at ease), but I'm not so sure as in my understanding Andy prefers forging a relationship while both parties are sober, i.e. just hanging out socially or doing stuff rather than drinks. Plus he's also usually designated driver when it's just the two of us heading out, as I don't have a licence.
So this could be a fun couple weeks in which I either birth someone else's relationship or ruin any chance of them getting together.
No pressure then.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
At the Insomnia convention I was at a month or so ago, I actively tried to get a fan and a youtuber friend of mine together. Maneuvered them together, passed contact details between them, etc. No idea what became of it, but was fun to watch her squirm so much

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I have helped set up my best friend with his last girlfriend and his current girlfriend. It feels good.
I mean, I can't take full credit for the whole relationship, but I definitely helped make it happen. And it feels nice that I can help a good friend of mine be happy.
In my news, I just asked out a girl via Facebook. I'm normally against this, but when I tried to ask her out in person, several gallons of water were poured on my head from an unknown source, and that quite literally put a damper on things and distracted me, so I didn't get the chance. In lieu of the fact that I probably won't see her on the off chance for another week, I decided to send her a Facebook message asking her out. Far from ideal, but I'm quite good with the written word, so we'll see what happens.

Sounds like pretty much anybody who has had or has any relationship with the English.

Got turned down politely. The world keeps on spinning.
Also, I'm fucking sick of being single. I'm just no good at it.

Yea...being single is fun when you're carefree and you don't care if the person in your bed loves you or not, but at some point, it gets old. I hate being single, too.

Wait, you can have other people in your bed when single? This has never been the case for me, how does one achieve it.
