It's actually supposed to be the crown of Mother Earth.

But yeah, it's the Holy Hand Grenade.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

We weren't always going to be the third planet. An over sight almost made us the fifth planet.

I swear to Wotan the analogy was suggested by my mom when I was a kid. I didn't take it very seriously but at an age where boys wore blue and girls wore pink it seemed as legit as anything else.

Originally it was boys had pink and girls had blue right up until the 1920s. No on knows why it changed.

The way I was taught them is that boys are pointers and girls are squatters...

Those planetary symbols are actually taken from alchemy. Their shape has meaning, and they are each representative of an element or compound commonly used in alchemical formula.

It's all a bit mystical and seems silly given our modern understanding of chemistry, but it's pretty interesting stuff to read non-the-less.

And there was a time when little boys wore something that kind of resembles a dress, right? (taken from my grandpa's old photos.)

Yes, for the first few years of their lives boys would wear dresses. This continues in the Christening Gowns still sometimes worn by baby boys (Prince George, Prince William's son, wore one for his Christening).

My ex has started talking to me again. She's sent me some extremely passive aggressive messages. I wasn't sure why at first, but now I think it's because she's broken up with the guy she got with just after I broke things off and is kinda pissed I haven't shown any sign I miss her. Like she's annoyed I don't feel like breaking up with her was a mistake.

I don't really want to talk to her at all, but I don't know if I should just ignore her, or tell her bluntly that I don't want to talk, or try and let her down easy. Tbh I don't think I can manage that last one.

What do, guys? :?

I'd remind her that she can't have been missing you all that much if she got with another guy that quick.

I think it's better if you just ignore her, that speaks louder than any conversation you might get into at this point.

Thanks, guys. Ignoring her seems cold, but tbh I don't care about saving her feelings any more.

Well compared to being cold, there's a lot of potential negativity to follow from engaging her and playing to her goading.

True. And tbh if she's set herself on being really shitty there isn't anything I could say that would let her down. Like if she's just going to take everything the worst way possible and get angry no matter what I say, which is how I expect things to go... there isn't really very much point in my saying anything at all.

To me it sounds like she may be looking for a rebound/revenge, neither of which you want to be involved in. Or maybe I've just been hanging around students and their relationship habits too much.

You made the right choice. I'm just hoping her angry messages didn't ruin your day or anything. But yeah, ignoring her was the only way to go about it. Taking the high road haha :D
