Re: The Big Relationship Thread
Maybe look into applying for loans to go to school in another place? (somewhere that is not a small town in which you seem to be unhappy in) I don't really know your situation, so I'm sorry if these suggestions are just annoyances. There is a big world to explore, and while it's extremely frustrating that money is the one thing holding us all back, save up for a year or two.
In the meantime, stop torturing yourself. You clearly understand when you are reaching for something you shouldn't be.. especially girls in relationships. Start looking elsewhere..love and relationships form in strange places. Literally just get out as much as you can when you are lonely.. library, walks, groery stores, book stores.

Conversely, if money is the one thing holding you back, work your ass off to get out of wherever you are. That could mean second or third jobs, and trying to get good experience that would lead to a solid position elsewhere when you DO leave.

Certainly know how that feels. Hope things work out for you eventually.
I'm in my "Man... forget trying to be in a relationship" phase. Looking over my life, I think the main reason (other than health issues) I've never had a relationship last longer then 2 months is that people find me boring. But I'm not about to change who I am and how I act just because it doesn't interest most people. That would be silly.

Uh.. one and two might be a bit shakey because I'm not sure they count, but anyway:
1) My brother's birthday party.
2)Facebook.. kinda. I knew her in junior school but we hadn't seen eachother in over ten years.
3)deviantART.
4) Who knows? Maybe I've met her allready but we're just not together yet.

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
All: Classes. Oh no wait, one school musical. XD The others math and creative writing, respectively.
I just read through like.. 11 pages of this thread and I think it's awesome. DX
Um I'd just like to point out while I'm here that I am currently dating an extremely nerdy, skinny white boy with bad self-confidence problems, and I love him to bits. <3 (He's the creative writing one, if anyone cares.) And you guys seem not opposed to rants, so here goes.
I've always been the one to take initiative in my relationships. (I'm female, by the by.) I guess this is because I really like nerdy boys with little to no self-confidence. This is as far as I can tell because boys with no self-confidence tend to be grateful for whatever girl/nookie they can get and since I have low s-c, I don't think anyone with standards would want me that much. (The current exception to this being my current, from now on 'kitty', as I pet named him, who tries his best to make me feel gorgeous and.. really isn't into sex) As for the nerdyness, well.. I'm nerdy, so I like dating people that share those things with me. Even as with kitty, we don't play the same games most of the time. (He likes online games like LoL and TF2, and sometimes WoW, while I prefer.. Well my list of favorite games is a rather odd one indeed.)
ANYWAYS. The thing is, I'm going to assume any girl on this forum is at least a little bit nerdy, and for the most part wants to date other nerds. (Of course there will be exceptions, there always are. - See Language: French) What I've found about nerdy boys is, unsurprisingly, that they overthink things. "I like this girl but we're kinda friends and I don't want to risk our friendship." Being the argument I've heard most often. A lot of nerd boys are too nervous to take the first step, because their 'higher brain power' is really good at thinking of every little thing that could go wrong.
So! My advice to nerdy girls searching for the snuggly overly affectionate skinny white boy of your life?
Make a move, chances are he's too stupid/smart to think you're at all interested and the worst that can happen really is that he says no.
And I'm sure you all knew this already and didn't want to hear it again, lol, so I'll leave you with that. I just wanted to rant about something for some reason.

Aww, but the adorable antisocial ones would never be caught dead at such a thing. Unless their girlfriend dragged them to one and forced them to wear tight-fitting black clothing and a collar with a bell around their neck.

You can also find affectionate nerdy white boys at anime/computer/gaming clubs. Look for someone over 30. Most geek boys don't let the affectionate out until they're older. At least that's been my experience.

I am skinny and incredibly nerdy. However I also have no interest in being made to "wear tight-fitting black clothing and a collar with a bell around [my] neck" or "pretend [I am] Asian for a day". I'm also incredibly aggressive when provoked (the Violent Glaswegian genes).

Re: The Big Relationship Thread
I'm not skinny, but I'm quite geek/nerd inclined. I'd love to find a nice geek girl that wasn't completely insane (in bad ways).
@thatlaurachick: I find the same problem with most geek girls. They don't seem to figure out what is important in a relationship until they've been screwed over a few times and realize that a cute ass and asshole personality aren't all they're cracked up to be if there's nothing else there in the person.
