Matt, perhaps a little "man I suck more than Matt, despite that near impossibility" moment might make you feel better about yourself?

First, I'm a dork, a loser, and a nerd. Fairly obvious, but, one must always state the obvious. There was this really attractive, really smart, really funny girl at my school, though she was "normal" so to speak, in that she didn't have any social issues at all. We became friends. I got a crush on her. I do nothing. One day, we were hanging out at my house, she's cold, so she asks me to hold her and keep her warm. I did. Nearly a YEAR LATER I realize that "oh shit. She was starting to like me. DOH." That realization only occuring when we talked about it because I had just gotten a girlfriend(who is infinitely better in every way, and I have no regrets, but STILL). It should be noted that this friend and my platonic relationship involved very little physical contact normally, so the "holding for warmth" was a wee bit weird. My house is bloody cold though (generally 17-18 degrees C).

Matt, I really shouldn't be the one to give advice. But here we go.

First off, stop beating yourself up. A lot of us have missed opportunities, I had one that I just realised almost a year after the fact. (Long story.) And had I taken that opportunity, I'd be much more well adjusted instead of the convoluted mess that sits before you... About 3000 miles away.

Second, when you go to work Monday: Make sure you're all smelling good and such. Then, just ask her out. She's not going to be any less interested in you. Don't wait for a moment, make one.

Now, I know you're going to suggest all sorts of things and how you don't want things to be weird. Matt, the girl is interested in you, and why shouldn't she be? Just be yourself, but stand up and give it a shot. The only thing stopping you is you.

Come on, make us proud.

Actually, it may even be better that you did make any iniative yourself, she would have been totally confused about it, thus you avoided a really awkward moment.
