Put me down in NW. There is some epic camping around the area.

We need to lure the crew with a limitless amount of free booze...

That'd get Morgan... we could offer science and get Paul... someone could find an Optimus Prime to bribe Matt... A duck to get Jer...

How would we get Graham, Kathleen, James, and Bill?

I think Tim loves us enough to come without bribes.

Well, I'm in Massachusetts at the moment, and I lack money to go anywhere far away, though I'm sure I could leech off my aunt's frequent flier miles. If it were in New York or somewhere vaguely close, my only conflict would be scheduling around classes or potential employment.

Yes! Cats! That would get Kathleen, Graham would follow Kathleen...

Maybe tell Bill it's an opportunity harass Matt, and tell James he has to come fix things, because he's the fixer.

Kathleen will come for the parties and the booze as well. Graham we might be able to lead along if we dangle some new editing software in front of him. James and Bill would be tough though. Maybe a massive DOTA tourny?

You know where has lots of ducks?

Well most anywhere but the Pacific Northwest is the right answer.

Okay, I've got booze, ducks, sleep, kittens, a rare in-box Optimus Prime, more booze.....

I was going to make an economy joke, but I figured it'd be low brow.

As far as getting the crew is concerned, it's almost definitely going to have to be on the West Coast. Has anyone checked the prices to fly out of Vancouver to even Chicago? They love us, but they don't love us that much. I don't think I'll be able to make anything unless it's close by.

Another option is somewhere like Las Vegas. Besides the Desert Bus theme, hotels on the strip can be dirt cheap during non-peak times and there are usually decent-to-good flight deals as well. Some suites are definitely large enough to be a "con room" of sorts (as long as things wouldn't get too loud and crazy). It'd be a pretty substantial drive for some crew members, but I bet there would be a handful that would make the trip.

So, added a bunch of you people. We have a lot in the NE and NC. Though, some of the NE ones haven't posted here yet and I'm just assuming Gordon and Tom will shove them into the trunk.

More people, easier way to weigh our options. So, if you know where forumites who haven't posted here are, let me know.

I think Missouri is the most central option.

That or Tennessee.

Tennessee actually would be easy for a lot of people, but the people to the west would be left out a bit.

What if we arranged tree or four simultaneous get-togethers for different parts of the country? Possibly with live feed between them? That way you guys* wouldn't have to travel too much of a prohibitive distance, plus you could do camping for the WCMLGs, Six Flags for the ECMLGs, etc.

yeah its starting to sound like either A) we pick a central location without much tourism (to cut down on flight expenses)
or B) We do simultaneous meetups on both coasts.

Breaking that idea down even further, perhaps doing meetups in each region, NE, SE, NW, SW would make it even easier.

thoughts?

I'd say go for central. We have time to figure stuff out, but breaking it down too much, we might as well just have normal meetups.
