Epic North American Meetup Thread
Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
You know that thing I said I'd do? With the updating when I got home?
I slept and played Sim City instead. I'll try again after I get back from the barber on Monday.
But, keep those "I can do X"'s coming in.

I was with you until the eyebrow. But a mini Florida meetup would be possible. We have at least 2 other relatively close forum members. To the LRRmobile!

That could work. It could certainly help planning for the big event.

Updated the list and map.
ES, you're about two hours out from me.
Also, if you're planning on taking a train to Victoria, you'll have to leave 4 days before.

Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
Okay, sweet. I believe I acknowledged the time of a train in my post.
I think I'd still rather do that than pay $1000 for a plane ticket.

I am offended by this thread, seeing as mexico isn't listed in the OP.
Then again I'm probably the only person that knows what LRR is in the city I live in.

No one from Mexico has established interest yet.

Pssst. Hey, you. DmitriW and I are in Illinois, and we're both down.
Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
I already had you two down from when he suggested you, but I've gone and added you to the map.

If we do go with the invasion of Victoria, we're going to have to clear it with the crew.
Hmm, would some intrepid young explorer mind going through and seeing where everyone who wants to do this posted would be best for them and listing it?
So far, I know the invasion of Victoria is the most popular, but who can actually do it?

Hi - in St. Louis, 63376. I can do Victoria, and would be willing to travel anywhere given limited finances.
Anyone else here in the metro area? (just wondering)

Because they own the entire city now.

Is this Victoria, Canada or Victoria, THE MOON! you guys are talking about?
Cos that second one they do own.
Nothing to see here.
Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
You don't need to clear it with us. You are all free and welcome to travel wherever you please.
BUT, be aware that just because you guys might all descend upon our humble little city doesn't mean we are going to entertain you like the little monkeys I'm sure you all believe us to be
Obviously we have done our best to chill with people that do in fact make the journey out here. (ie: lyinginbedmon) and will continue to do so for others. And if a bunch of you were coming up we could organize at least 1 big get together somewhere in town to watch some videos and what not. Just keep us informed.

Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
Sure, there's that approach. But, it wouldn't have the same effect when we set up tents outside your houses and sleep on your lawn/sidewalk without telling you.

Re: Epic North American Meetup Thread
Well, that's a given. Hell, originally it was mostly going to be centralized, but majority rule and we're probably invading.
As for the clearing, I meant more or less do it in a fashion that won't end up with you guys getting a bad rap around the area after 30 LRRites raze Victoria while wearing matching Runners shirts. Plus, picking a time when you're all less busy would be easiest on all parties involved.

Wait, we decided on Victoria? Huh, yeah, I'm gonna need one epic lift.

The way it seems, most people think Victoria is the way to go. And, I'm inclined to agree. It's by the crew, which are the cause to all of this. I'm pretty sure some people might be cool to get with you for group discounts on flights and stuff since a lot of you are in the same area.

I'm not sure how a TARDIS miniature is gonna help me get to Victoria. Sure, it may be bigger on the inside, but I still need to fit through the door.

PFFFF. I suggested Mexico as the meetup! Mind you, I suggested a cheap touristy resort, becuase that way people can eat, drink, stay on the beach and have a round flight all for 500 - 700$.
Walk in like DeNiro, and leave like Brando.

I like Siobhan's proposal, primarily because I can afford that. Flying out to Victoria in the summer is expensive, I'm even having problems with the trains (mainly that it can't figure out a route back for some reason, but that's still a bit of a problem).
