Re: What do I want for Christmas?
At the moment, I've more or less decided on two things - Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, which comes out in a couple days and I expect to be awesomesauce because you can ride cows, and Wii Fit Plus, because I'm a fatass.
As far as charity, as nice an idea as that is, I'm not... really... that kind of person. I don't know if anyone here watched Big Brother 2, but I think Will Kirby put it best:
"If you win, how much of your winnings will you donate to charity?"
"Are you kidding? I'm buying, like, two jet skis."

Meh, I haven't been excited for a Harvest Moon game since A Wonderful Life.
As far as I'm concerned, that was the best.

which harvest moon was it where you can marry some chick but as soon as you do she stops working, starts sitting around your house all day and eats all your food and then, has a kid?

Yeah, I'll admit, the marriage in the games is pretty realistic.

Last year from my dad I got cards that said I had gave X number of people clean water, a backpack full of school supplies and a goat to a family. I thought it was the best gift ever. They donate in your name.
Whenever someone asks what I want for Christmas or my birthday, I ask them to donate to either Heiffer or Child's Play. If they don't want to do that, I'm always interested in mechanical puzzles. I always make a donation to Heiffer for my parents for xmas, and usually for other relatives.

i used to ask for bunches of stuff for hanukkah but then my family never even got me one of the things on my list. i used to get shirts from kohl's. so i just asked for money and since money is so impersonal, giftcards.

Actually I've bought a lot of games for my new PS3 so actually what I'm hoping to get is Rosetta Stone (Levels 1-3) for Japanese. So I want a $500 language learning system rather than a bunch of games.
I'm hoping to travel abroad to Japan my senior year of College and stay there for the whole year.

Re: What do I want for Christmas?
My favourite was Harvest Moon 64. I don't know why, I just loved that shit.
I have and played A Wonderful Life, but I think the farthest I ever got was Fall of the first year. The days just dragged on and on, especially during the Summer (where the days went on for no less than ten minutes, sometimes longer), and I would always end up getting all my stuff done and spending five minutes fishing. Five minutes a day x ten days a month = fifty minutes of fishing, mostly at night when it's hard to see. There were also no festivals (outside of one or two unofficial "festivals" which were just the characters meeting in Gustafa's hut to play music and stupid stuff like that, which pissed me right off because festivals were always my faovurite part of HM64. Even the festivals in Tree of Tranquility (which I also love) disappointed me because the only contest festivals were either minigames (most of which I'm bad at or can't figure out the controls for) or just animal judging contests. I loved running around in HM64 looking for the easter eggs, and the dog and horse races were amazingly awesome.

Money. Money and food. Damn being a student, and damn being raised in a misleading childhood of middleclass luxury.

Re: What do I want for Christmas?
My mom asked me what I wanted for Xmas today & all I could think of at the moment was new sheets for the guest bedroom & hinted at some things around the house that need repairing. You know something is going wrong when you ask for practical stuff like that. *facepalm*

I'm not getting anything for Christmas. My parents don't have the money, my friends don't do gift giving (at least with me anyways), and half my siblings are too young to even think about giving gifts.
