Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I used to collect Tau and Witch Hunters but I'm too broke for the game now.
I'm still trying to figure out why someone didn't tell me how awesome Muse is.
Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I want to start a Tau army, but I can't afford it yet.
Sure, we suck in close combat--too bad you'll never get there. ;D

Consider this signature a museum piece, since I love it and am unlikely to change it ever.

Nah Keep a fire caste or Kroot squad in back, whip Hammerheads around and nuke own men, for the greater good.

That's what the Tau are all about brah.
Except for the Ethereals, those are obviously greater than everyone else.
My and my friend who played Daemon Hunters used to play all the time but they closed the Games Workshop around here and my buddy moved.
OP, How do you find people to play with?

You could've actually made that a hyper-link.
Now that would've been funny.

Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
Back in the day (like, 15 years ago) I started getting into it. I collected Space Wolves, Imperial Guard (Catachan), and Orks. My friends and I chose not to switch to 3rd Edition when that came out, and we've barely played since. But our games were legendary.

Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
After moving on from a killer LotR army, I know have around 1000 points of Tau, mainly because they're space communists, which is awesome.
At my club we're having a tournament to see who's in the team for the schools league. Even though I'm considered one of the best there, I've won 1 out of 4 games...
I just can't seem to find a Tau army that has a good chance of beating anyone. I can only make good lists for Space Marines, and that's because they're overpowered.

I think this place is full of spies. I think they're onto me.
Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I'm sure someone will move this.
Anyway, I collected Fantasy Dwarves. Got all most 3000 points worth.
....Only 700 of those painted.....
Only 100 of those well.
Edit: Does anyone collect fantasy here?
Also demanding: PICTURES PEOPLE, PICTURES! (I will take some tomorrow evening)

I use to play 40k back in the day before the big over haul and new rule book.
Played as marines. Twas a fun game. I would play it again if I had the time.

Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I enjoyed the stories and overall background and universe of Warhammer and 40K but the game itself was so friggin' boring for me! I had the hardest time playing through any single game.
I still re-read the Gaunts Ghosts stuff occasionally and have a fairly decent knowledge of the stuff but when it got down to the actual dice rolling I just fell the hell asleep.

Nothing to see here.

Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I used to play years ago; had a halfway decent Tyranid army (~4k points or thereabouts) and a small Dark Angels Space Marine force. Always intended to get back into it, but too many other hobbies have taken its place, sadly.

Re: A warhammer thread GASP!
I have an Alpha Legion army just waiting to be painted. They've been waiting for a year now.
I also have an incomplete Night Goblin army. I've only painted a regiment and a half, and some squighoppers. Here's som old WIP photos:
They too have been waiting for about a year.
