I wish I were English, if only for the accent and so I could run around pretending I'm the Doctor. Does that count?

Wait, I can run around pretending I'm the Doctor either way!

THE accent?

You mean we're meant to have only ONE?

Damn, I'm going to have to call a Meeting Of The English so we can resolve this.

To be honest, I speak pretty close to the Queen's English despite the disadvantages of being born in Yorkshire to an Irish family and then going off to study in Birmingham.

Oh good lord don't get your trousers in a bunch. I'd take ANY British accent. They're ALL awesome. I'll be more careful to specify next time the exact accent I want in my hypothetical universe out of the millions that exist in the British Isles.

When someone says "the Queen's English", they mean eloquent, grammatically structured English. Talkin' proper, like.

English born and bred here.

I'll probably end up moving across the pond if I get the chance though, partially to be closer to the underground orbiting moon base, mostly because our country is going down the drain.

Things aren't going too well all the time, but I'd say they're not as bad as some places.

British, English and damned proud to be so.
I shall not 'Holla' as you put it.
I will however give you a rather pleasant:

How do you do?

Addendum: That last greeting is itself is a nice little test.

I repeat my question. Maybe we should just rename it "Grammar Nazi English"

Yes, I realize how weird that sounds

English? I'm told I sound like a upper class English 'toff' sometimes due to how my accent goes weird due to being half American (do not ask how that affects my accent).

But yes, I'm Scottish-American with dual citizenship. Scotland rocks!

I can do a terribly imitation of an English accent and I'm either 1/8 or 1/16th English. My great-great-grandmother's maiden name was Baskerville, if that counts for anything?

I remember one time being in a restaurant her, and telling my family he's from south of London.

They thought he was Australian.

I was right.

I'm not sure I could do it again, I've lost my flair for English accents...
