The thread of win
Re: The thread of win
So with my laptop dying a few days ago, the day DB started.. <_< I've been on my mobile since. However, I finally managed to scape up a computer I was going to sell somebody, they fell through though, so I got it up and running nicely, except no HDD. After a day of thinking about it, I finally figured it out, I can use USBs and install linux to one from another, so I'm not typing this on a desktop thats running Ubuntu from an external hdd installed from a multi-boot thumb drive. It'll do for now. The only downside is I went from a gaming laptop of 2.16 dual core 4GB RAM and 512 video card to a 3.4Ghz P4 with 1.5GB RAM and 8MB Video. BUT it'll do. I didn't game much. WOOT. Now to catch up on DB (OMG 1/4 million!), comics and videos.

I went to a pool hall and they stamped me to indicate I could legally drink.
It reads "APPROVED"
I can't help but feel validated.

Re: The thread of win
Unexpectedly slept through the finish, but a WONDERFUL, CHARITABLE soul capped almost all of it and already got it up on YT (thanks AGAIN, SHBird - YOU ARE WIN)
Now I just have to dig around and find the stinger - the anticipation is likely gonna make it even more entertaining.

Being told (in a public forum, no less) that you made a positive impact on someone else's life is the highest form of win there is!

Re: The thread of win
I've been skimming through YouTube to catch up on stuff I'd missed...
...and every time I check someone's link to a clip over on YT, EVERY 'related video' at the right is another Desert Bus clip.
WIN, period.

Finding out your favourite person from LRR is just as evil and sneaky as you are is a win.

Ah, that reminds me - Matt's being the only person in the Moonbase to get the Excel Saga reference last night suddenly makes me not look down on him quite as much as before.

After a week of Desert Bus and Mass Effect Marathon, my faith in gamers is restored. I'd been burned out on video games after playing on one too many L4D2 servers full of random racists and griefers, but the gaming community showed its best side this week.

Re: The thread of win
Just checked up on my last assignment for English because I realized I hadn't seen the grade yet. 96. "Erin - very thorough and articulate, a pleasure to read. My only qualm is that I would like to have seen you utilize a couple more quotes or excerpt. Really great, Erin." :3

Got a good new scene to work on, made some breakthroughs in voice work, got a date and found out that in two weeks Jesse *Bleeding* Eisenberg is coming to do a Q&A at my school.

Re: The thread of win
I was gathering my stuff in the breakroom at the end of the shift, after completing clean-up on the deli, and met the 'night crew' (they do production only - make salads...TONS of salads, and pizzas etc.)
The girls looked rather weary from slogging in on a rather cold night, but they brightened right up when they saw me. I was a little confused by this, but one of them explained "We're always happy to see you working in the evening because it means that the deli's not gonna be in a big mess for us to clean up! You're the only person who bothers to get it all finished apart from the Manager herself."
I suppose I should have put this over in "Mixed Emotion" but their praise still cheered me up and lessened my fatigue.
