Nice pair of scissors.
-
Someone leaked Within Temptation's new Album on Grooveshark.
Which means I can preview the whole album before buying, and decide if I want to (no more album disappoints).
-
I like it. I bought the Deluxe edition with covers.
See, internet piracy has some good things. Granted, if I could access Grooveshark on my MP3 player I'd never buy music.

I went to see the Arcade Fire, one of my favourite bands, play an open air show tonight. They were bloody brilliant.
We are all made of star dust. However we are also made of nuclear waste.

Re: The thread of win
I saw Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry in 'Twelfth Night'. It was an amazing show.
Also, I have been hired to write a feature film, and the director is talking about Sundance. My advance is enough to cover rent and food for a month.
I'm in a good mood.

Went to my son's winter concert at his school on Thursday. Got a job offer by the end of the show in my field, close to home, and the hours I would be working are within the range I was looking for.
Guess it's a good thing I didn't have the time to get out of my school uniform.

Today I passed my black belt test, something when I started karate almost 10 years ago that I never thought I'd get to. Not only that but some of the Sensei's had some very nice things to say about my test. So stoked right now.

Adorable, no?
And I swear my first thought upon seeing this was just how badly they need to be shopped into the Awesome Brothers picture...or maybe the other way around...

Not sure if there are any Canadian national rugby team fans here but I've severed Jeff Hassler a few times in the past week. Technically got his autograph by a sneaky method.

Unfortunately, I do not. Well, I have controllers, just not ones that can be used with the PC.

Re: The thread of win
Last three days have been intense at the Haunted House in Jekyll and Hyde. I have had a lot of compliments about my performance. Friday night we did a series of covert scares, where I would go in to the haunted house pretending to be a normal person, then freaking out in the final room of the house and going crazy. Which worked very well. I was also doing my standard scares, and doing them well. After I finished my shift and got out of make-up, a group of girls I terrified asked to take a picture with me. Saturday night, Jenny McCarthy was at the club, and her mother went through the house. I terrified her so much she had to leave before she even got half way. I nearly gave Jenny McCarthy's mum a heart-attack. And tonight after we finished, a family I terrified asked if their daughter could take a picture with me. I have also been receiving lots of compliments from staff who come through the house, and the floor actors who see me when I come out to do our promotional show.
It feels pretty good to be terrifying. I'm exhausted though.

She didn't come through the house. Only her mother did.
I didn't even recognize Jenny McCarthy, someone had to explain to me who she was, and I pieced it all together afterwards.

I applied at my old job yesterday, and today they called and essentially offered me a job! Meaning that instead of working two days a week at this job, I can work maybe 4-5 at both, and have a DECENT paycheck!

Completed m' tax return like a real adult! As soon as I post this, I'm gonna go make a cup of tea. Now I just need to actually drive in to town and pay it at some point, maybe tomorrow.
But first: Household cleaning chores! (Not a particularly unpleasant prospect, I like having a clean place to live)
At this rate I'll be in tweed before the end of the week.

Re: The thread of win
DotA 2 patch today. They're adding two heroes (adding a hero is always exciting. But one of them is one I'd seriously consider playing regulary).
They're also adding a mad-cap mode where people get assigned random heroes, and their abilities are put in a pool. Players then take it in turns to choose which abilities they want. This sounds like a fun casual mode for DotA2 (which it needs. Unranked modes are still very intense. "Least Played" mode has elitist twats qqing at players playing heroes they never play "not good").
On the flip side they slightly nerfed my favouirte hero (Venomancer). Ah well. Wins>Loss.
-
Also due to my experience of "Bus Physics", I'm expecting Pokebank to be released today. Because things are never released spread out. They always clump up.

Apparently the school must have been quite desperate for personnel, as they just offered my a night adjutant position along with my lab technician position. You better believe I'm making them call me Professor

Re: The thread of win
I got a new job in a tearoom!! And it's perfect! It's in my field, it's a 15 minute drive from my place, and I don't have to be in charge of anyone! Also, the hours are great. I'll be home before midnight when I work.
Though I do have to find a good brownie recipe for the place. Which is also a win because I now have a good reason to spend money on ingredients to make vast quantities of brownies.

That is FANTASTIC, MinniChi!
Also, the 'link this to that to that to...' nature of the internet caused me to discover this. Artimis-simulator in a caravan ('camper trailer' for the New World ).
I hope this takes off (sorry) and becomes popular and profitable enough to maybe see the booths showing up at small regional sci-fi conventions or similar.
