Re: The thread of win
Yeah, I'd actually hold a little hope that this might evolve into a unanimous win.
What IS win is that so many others spoke up and didn't tolerate that behaviour.

My supervisor has signed off on my thesis corrections and they are off to the one referee who wanted to see them.

Just put down the deposit on my wedding venue!! Looks nice, and the lady in charge seems to have good ideas that match what I want.

Re: The thread of win
Oh yeh. I was only up or a total of about 12 minutes (cloudy day and no handy ridges nearby) but I loved every second of it. Only thing is I'm going to have to loose some weight, I'm about 110-115 kg and each seat is officially rated for about 105kg (+ weight of parachute etc). Mind you, this might be the motivation I need to actually get off my arse and get moving.

Re: The thread of win
Spent all of yesterday implanting cannulas (tubes) in rat brains/mouthes.
Had a meeting with one of my supervisors today and he said he had heard I was integrating well, that I picked things up quickly, and that I was committed.
Pretty sure he almost said he was proud, lol, but he corrected himself quickly to say he was "very happy."
So while this week has been gruelling at least I'm on track.
Also he suggested I go look up papers because my study might be even more broadly significant than we initially thought. Pretty cool implications, so that's awesome too.

Re: The thread of win
Got an email reply from a friend. We talk via email since we don't live in the same country. He is busy so replies once every two and a half weeks.
Never the less, getting an email reply from him always makes me happy.
Not many things make me happy.
Happy above content.
---
Packed up my Christmas package to the same person.
I did it early because I had the resources to do it now.
I knew what design to print out.
I knew his address.
It was a foolish thing to not do it now because unexpected things could arise. Like the printer being an arse hole andprinting on the wrong piece of paper (drew in one and vomited it out, then drew another and printed on it). Panicked when I thought it ran out of ink.
Basically, near Christmas time, shit has a tendency to happen. So, if I start prepping for this one thing when I can, if any shit happens, I have time to deal with it.
I didn't want to do this last minute and something critical happens. BECAUSE IT ALWAYS DOES.
Now I'm waiting for the post office to open.

Re: The thread of win
Got a job for next year! In my field, in an area I'm really interested, for a firm with massive prestige and reputation, and to boot I think I'm barely half an hour from uni so I can still come see my friends often. Oh, and I secured it before most of my course have even started getting interviews.
Today is a good day
