This guy is a real winner. Seriously, as far as nerdy proposals go, this is sweet.

Not only is that guy a winner, but the mapper that helped make it happen is possibly an angel sent down from heaven itself for making it a reality.
Just... *sniff* it's beautiful...

That was amazing!
And in othere winning news I just passed a car parked on the road to my job with the number plate ending in "LRR" - nice way to start the day

I survived my 18 month review.
We are all made of star dust. However we are also made of nuclear waste.

This song is win. Especially while watching the Portal 2 vid.

Ellen McLain is ALSO a winner for having done some specific re-recording to help this out.
(the only puzzling thing about this is: why does the vid have 52 downvotes?)

I don't want to make Dreamer feel any worse about his father. I'm sorry Levi, this isn't meant to hurt you or anything. I just wanted to make a post saying that I really do love my dad.
He is willing to fund my education, even if I realize this isn't what I want to do and want to change majors, even during second year, need to spend some extra time, want to get a Master's ... So long as I find something to do I enjoy.
He really does just want me to be happy.
Just wanted to acknowledge it, and state that I do appreciate his support.
... *snuffles*
And he's one of the few people I actually understand and he's one of the few who actually understands me. I don't really get most people but he makes sense to me, maybe because we're so similar. He and I are cut from the same cloth.
I'm just ... really grateful that I have such a great father.

Good Thai food is win.
Re: The thread of win
I evidently gradumated in July... the paper work hadn't gone through, so I thought I'd be out another semester.
No, I'm not done... I just finished a 4 course "Graduate Certificate" and graduated with that. I'm still working on the M.S.

Gratz on the threshold-crossing!
Well, day 9 of 9 and I still haven't killed anyone - minor victory but I'll take it!

Re: The thread of win
This is a tiny win, but I'm proud of it.
So, I wanted a mineral water from the vending machine at work. $2.60. Fine. I grab two $1 coins, a 50c coin and a 10c coin, and head over. I put in the $1... and it refuses it. Again and again. Nope, no $1 coins will be accepted. I do not have other coinage.
So instead, as an experiment, I grab them both and put them into the chips vending machine next to it. And then hit the coin return. A shiny $2 coin drops out.
Who has a mineral water and two thumbs? This guy.

Re: The thread of win
Double post but this is very much win.
So I bought the HP Touchpad when it was released a few weeks ago for the full price (£479). I got a call today from Carphone Warehouse to tell me that the price had dropped and they would be refunding me the difference. So I can now expect a cheque for £364 to come through my door within the next two weeks.
Woohoo!

Tickets to see Tim Minchin.
Pabst Theater.
Row BB, seats 9 and 10.
For reference, here's a seating chart for the theater - http://intl.ticketseating.com/maps/450w ... -stage.jpg
My stepdad kinda rocks.

Re: The thread of win
Who dusted off his Brain Age card and slapped it in, only to find he's still pulling down mid-twenties test results and has got two thumbs?
THIS GUY.
(Considering I'll be 40 in just a few months, I'm calling it a win B^) )

Re: The thread of win
That is all.
~V
EDIT: Okay, fixed the post because apparently the image wasn't showing. It should be working now. Also, on a semi-related note, don't make me have to kill you, empath.
Anyway, because I'm already editing this post I might as well elaborate. I'm no longer the sad, lonely bastard that I have been for the past few months, or at the very least I'm now considerably less so. I've met someone. She's gorgeous, funny, I love talking to her and she can put up with my sarcasm and throw some of her own right back at me in return. Hell, the first time we talked over the phone we spent five hours talking to one another.
We spent part of the day together today before I had to run off and go to work. We watched a movie, cuddled for a bit, talked, and did... er... things that probably shouldn't be discussed in mixed company. At any rate, this girl just managed to waltz right into my life by complete happenstance and I'm still trying to figure out what I did to actually earn something as great as her coming into my life.
I dare say that I'm actually happy at the moment, which is rare for me. If that's not a win I don't know what is.
