There is some still paperwork to do and I need to get some hard copies of the thesis bound, but essentially the process is complete.

I thought we went over this already earlier (at another milestone in this process) - it'd be "Dr. Lord Chrusher" or "Lord Chrusher, Ph.D."?

Nonetheless 'a rose by any other name would smell as sweet' - all the kudos (which is just what you deserve :D )

I believe it is actually Captain Sir Doctor Lord Chrusher.

Continuing on from the mixed emotions thread, turns out my boss has no issue with me moving to Halifax.

Now to find an apartment...

Pretty sure the nobility title comes before the doctorate title. So it would be Lord Dr. Chrusher.

So, the wife has been kinda bored (holidays are making her regular streamers/let's-players/vloggers less...regular ;) ) so she screwed up her courage and started streaming herself.

She's getting viewers! :D

(e.g. today she's running BGEE on Boxing Day and thus actually garnering as many as a half-dozen viewers at once (not including her mod, me :) ). Best of all they all seemed positive and interested and cool! )

I finally found some Galleon stuff on Google Play. :D I found it by searching for a German band they've often played with (Höhner). Sure, two of the three songs are half in German, but I don't care. It's the first time I've heard them, not counting a few Youtube clips of the same songs, since Dad's car chewed the Anchors Aweigh tape we had.

We went to my parents house on the other side of the state for Christmas. We got home last night at 11:30 to the power on only to the fridge and the downstairs bathroom. So we went to a hotel around the corner.

This morning at 8:00 I called the electrician, he stopped by on the way to church diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes, got the furnaces and living room "active" and told us to call Consumers.

Consumers power came out three hours later dug up the line and fixed it in under two hours.

What a country we live in where magic like this can happen as "just a routine line snap from the cold, sorry we couldn't throw down a piece of sod over the spot we dug up"

We have regular power and heat, and when there is a interruption in those services we take for granted there are people with the experience and training to fix those things in minutes or hours, and they apologize for not being able to do better when they worked magic!

When our home wasn't as comfortable as we would like there was a warm clean dry space just sitting waiting for us, and they cooked us breakfast!

Some people would complain about the inconvenience of all this but Im amazed and thankful for the great blessings.

My study grant application has been approved.

What's even better than being able to upgrade my computer system with it..?

Realising I have money that I can comfortably invest in producing Greetings Card Merch of my artwork. Before hand I was like... I could spend £100 on Greetings Cards, or spend that on food.

Now I can afford food.
I can build up slowly. I can decide how much to invest and use only that money.

Basically, i used to make cards by hand and that was tedious and tiring. they sold, but I was not happy the amount of physical effort I spent on it. I hurt myself due to the constant twisting of my back. I found out that I can produce a printed card (and if I buy cellophane bags too), it's only 80p a card. I did some market research and people seem to charge £1.50 -> £2.00+ for a card of this quality and type. The cards being arty and unspecified.

This excites me because:
a) I get excited over money. This isn't a bad thing if the activity for making money is wholesome.
b) I have a reason to art now. I was getting pissed off that I had no space to paint. I had to settle with drawing. Now, every arty thing I do is productive in my eyes.
c) I was feeling shite earlier this evening. Then this realisation came to me. I am grateful for it.
d) This would be my perfect job. Making stuff. Selling merch to people (like IRL AH).

My plan is to set up my Etsy store around this. Also to get my cards in local shops. Maybe in the future sell my designs to publishers for some lovely royalties.

Plumb in the meantime to make ends meet.

What is my goal? To be able to live solely from my art. Meaning I can say, go on art trips to Catalonia and other places.

I was upset before because my future was uncertain. Now, it's still uncertain, but it's less uncertain. I hope it will give me everything that I still want.

(As an artist it gets really demoralising when you see other artists gets successful. Especially with those Patreon artists or artists like Featherweight who somehow get a deal sorted out with cool people on the nets. Yay jealousy. So I'm glad this has dug me out of that ditch)
