Re: The thread of win
Two days of rain later, the pond in my yard (not the source of water, but a good gauge) has gone up by about four feet. I'm sure it's not a wholly accurate sign of the actual water level, but it's so nice to know I'll be able to eat off of real dishes again soon.

Re: The thread of win
You know, I was going to say, you guys should get some kind of supplemental water supply. These sorts of semi-droughts we've had are only going to get worse.

Re: The thread of win
Yeah. We've got a really shallow well. Digging a deeper one is on the to-do list, but they're ridiculously expensive, and with a sixty year old house that's falling apart, there always seems to be more pressing ways to spend money.
In the last few years we've replaced all of our water using appliances, and it's been a lot better. This is the first year it's been much of an issue for a while now, and nowhere near as bad as it used to be. There's enough that if we're careful and ration it we can manage, since there's water in the ground, we just can't use a lot at once. In the past it's been whole months of doing laundry and showering at friend's houses.

The Little Einsteins are focusing on Antonin Dvoraks "new world symphony" today. My daughters are dancing, singing and bouncing around the room happily.

Re: The thread of win
My friend posted something like that the other day on FB ("My baby is just the best baby, sorry everybody else") and people got offended. Ugh. People.

Lol, everyone think their kid is the best!
I have a few items of win of late:
-Has learners license again (40/44 bitches!)
-Passed both a major paper I was writing, and a major oral-practical exam with about 73% each (I was freaking out about them both and to see that I did reasonably well on them is kick ass!)
-I bought myself some new girly stuff yesterday (think soaps and handcream and stuff)
-currently listening to the new Current Swell album (go check them out, they're pretty awesome!)
-full, happy, warm at the moment (I love my duvet <3)
Only downside? Have to bike to work. Oh well, need to lose some of the weight I've gained in the past week or two.

Of course I'm out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there!

My kids arent the best, my kids are horrible human beings who shit wherever they are sitting when the mood strikes them, yell at me for not letting them kill themselves and refuse to go to sleep without a fight.

Re: The thread of win
Conversation with my ex (we're still good friends, he's just on the other side of the country, so we don't talk much).
He was the first real, long relationship I had, and we parted amicably. I know I'm lucky in a lot of ways, and this is one of the ways that I feel it and appreciate it the most.
(8:37:23 PM) Me: But thing!
(8:38:02 PM) Him: Thing!
(8:38:02 PM) Me: Which was, thanks for being involved with me back then. It really did help my image of myself I think. Except that sounds weird but I think you'll get what I'm trying to say.
(8:38:25 PM) Him: I do get what you're trying to say. And you're welcome, I guess?
(8:39:06 PM) Him: But I hope you know (and if you don't, it's good that I'm saying it!) that I wasn't involved with you out of pity or some strange selfless desire
(8:39:16 PM) Him: I was involved with you then because I wanted to be!
(8:39:29 PM) Him: I thought you were a cool lady who I happened to be attracted to and wanted to spend more time with.
(8:39:32 PM) Me: I thought as much but it is, of course, good to hear it
(8:39:52 PM) Him: Well, glad to say it, then!
(8:40:02 PM) Him: I'm glad good things came of it.
(8:40:11 PM) Me: You know one of my favorite parts of Next Generation?
(8:40:14 PM) Me: The relationships
(8:41:03 PM) Me: And the fact that even in the relationships (Riker/Troi or Picard/Chrusher) where there's a bit of tension/longing but it never develops over the series, they're excellent friends and discuss with each other when they feel things about other people because they know something is there, and that they should be honest.
(8:41:20 PM) Me: It's like they're mature people who act responsible towards interpersonal relationships
(8:41:29 PM) Me: Something TV seems to forget a lot!
(8:41:30 PM) Him: Hahaha
(8:41:33 PM) Him: Definitely
(8:41:53 PM) Him: Well, it's just that mature people acting responsibly seldom makes for good drama
(8:41:58 PM) Me: Shoooooosh
(8:41:59 PM) Me: Nevar
(8:42:00 PM) Me:
(8:42:05 PM) Him:
(8:43:16 PM) Me: Anyway! You're good people and I like you. #theEnd
(8:43:29 PM) Him: Aw shucks.
(8:43:34 PM) Him: Right back atcha, lady.
(8:43:48 PM) Me:

Yeah, because you're hardly ever using it as it is...
Re: The thread of win
Back in a band again. People saw my lyrics, heard the songs I wrote, heard I'm a grade 8 drummer and want me. They've been hounding me for a long time but now I feel like I'm ready to jump back into the saddle. I can't forever let my health stop me doing what I love.

The only thing I don't like about pineapple is what it does to my mouth when I eat way too much.

This, and the acid reflux, it's delicious in moderation though.
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.
