Desert Bus Door Hanger

Postby CurtM » 05 Dec 2009, 00:39

I've gotten into making random door hangers when I'm bored and toyed around with a Desert Bus door hanger due to my lack of inspiration for next years Blizzcon hangers.

Criticism and advice is welcome, need something to keep me awake all night.

That's a nice looking door hanger. I'm tempted to print it out & use it but I really don't know what for. Have you any specific suggested uses?

I thought of making the backside have a kind of do not disturb, watching desert bus, message, working on ideas for that now.

Oh, and a Full-Quality Copy: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/4862/dbfhhq.jpg (Edit: Forgot to add black border, updated with black border.)

Do we trim off the edges that look like shadows or around them?

They were meant as an effect to give the image depth (yes, I did borrow the idea from db.org), so I personally would keep them on.

I'd think there should be a mention of desertbus.org on there.

Only because you've shown you're willing to make small changes:

"This years donations" should have an apostrophe in "year's". : )

Looks cool!

You should make one for next year's and instead of printing out the stats for hours and dollars raised it should be left blank with a little dry-erase patch so the numbers can be written in. A running tally on your own doorknob!

I like the idea, so I made a quick variation: http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/7751/size352.jpg

THIS is an epic innovation on an already awesome idea!

This is EXTREMELY nit-picky, but that last yellow line has the wrong perspective on it. Sorry, I'm a little snobbish on that subject.

Other than that, awesome job.

Isn't the past-tense of "bus"(v) "bussed" (not "bused") as it would be "bussing" not "busing"?

This has bugged me every time someone has used "bused" -- it's not directed at CurtM specifically. I just pronounce things in my head as they are spelled, and "bused" would be pronounced "byoussed" by most rules.

Both are correct.

The ideas are getting better & better. All you really need to do now is print this out on card-stock & cover the blank fields with clear packing tape so you can keep it updated with a dry-erease marker.

I went to the OCB earlier and had them make up a few of these for me out of cardstock and 10mil laminate on both sides. Same process I used for Blizzcon door hangers last year. They look and work amazingly.
