I've downloaded but not installed it yet. Not being a PC user at all, I've never had a chance to try it. However, I'd love to hear how it is from anyone who used it on either and ESPECIALLY anyone who has tried both.
Also I'm starting this thread to prove how awesome the internet is in that, someone, in all seriousness, has created something that can be called "Google Chrome Apple Beta" by a sane human being.
I love this country. And by country, I mean series of tubes.
So, anyone try the Google Chrome Apple Beta?

It seems to work fine on my Mac.
I've been using it on my PC for quite a while, and I really like it. It's pretty, it's simple, and it's reliable.

I don't like Chrome. Mostly for the lack of customization and use of a frustrating 'simple' bookmark system. Also I had to work for add-on support, so yeah... that's already in Firefox...

I haven't actually tried Chrome, but based on my experience with using FF for Mac, I've decided to just stick with Safari. It works well, with no problems, and it's made for the system. Maybe if Chrome gets really glowing reviews, I'll give it a shot.

I have tried the Linux beta which came out on the same day as the OSX beta. Seems like a fast little browser but I quite used to Firefox and I am too lazy to learn Chrome's quirks.

The bookmark system really bugged me. It should not be a major ordeal to find out how to organize and change bookmarks. I should be able to see a button or option on a menu right away, or through right click. This wasn't the case and it bugged me a lot.

I much prefer Chrome over Firefox. Firefox has too much going on for its own good, I find. I don't need tons of feature bloat. And Chrome seems to use fewer system resources.

Personally, I can't stand firefox, but thats not the point of this post.
What I Don't Like About Chrome:
-No RSS capability. Just boots me back to Safari
-History... kinda works? Unless theres an option somewhere to change it from keeping only 4 recently visited sites, this is still a negative for me.
What I Do Like About Chrome:
-Seems speedy enough.
-I do like the themes that you can barely see as a background for the tabs.
-I don't quite see how the bookmark system can be 'frustrating'. Works fine for me, which leads me to
-Quick and easy load for my bookmarks and such from Safari. Its got all my bookmarks in the same places as they were in safari (on the bar below the location bar).
Oh. Indifference is what I would use to describe the quick link page for chrome. Safari and Opera did it better.
So, yeah. if I get increasingly annoyed with the lack of RSS, or the lack of any substantial history, I may go back to Safari. But, for now, I'll run the new and shiny beta.

I right click on the 'other bookmarks' folder. Manage bookmarks is on the menu, but not actually clickable; I want to delete a folder since I accidentally imported firefox bookmarks twice. One would assume that is what 'manage bookmarks' is for, yet I can't use it. Am I just doing this wrong? If not, this is currently keeping me from using it at all.

Just click "Other Bookmarks", then right-click (command-click?) the name of the folder you want to delete and select "Delete" from the menu.
Shouldn't be any different on Mac than PC for that.

Re: So, anyone try the Google Chrome Apple Beta?
I'm using it actively. It's pretty good. I really like how quickly it runs, and loads. Something that I think could be better, is more advanced options in customization. I like the themes, but I would like to see more preference options. I'm talking too much though. It's a solid browser and I like Google.
