The only thing on that list I cared about was SCTV.

I can imagine that, if Jim wasn't here yet, then, I mean that's like a building without a load bearing krusty the clown poster. Also, that video reminds me that I've still, to my knowledge, never had a Twinkee.

THEN! Next thing you know you'll simply be a part of the culture of the country. Like Leno or something.

Except LRR is from/in Canada, so they'd become part of Canadian culture. Like SCTV, Corner Gas and Rush.
I think 'claiming' something becomes incredibly obscured on the internet. Usually when something is seen as part of a culture it made its advent and popularity in that country, where as if it's on the internet then a lot of different cultures end up supporting it.
It's easier to make the distinction on TV and public media specific to a certain place though.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
Is the Escapist Canadian? Cos that was what I was talking about. Also I just wanted to come up with someone who's pretty famous around the world and I didn't really spend time thinking about it. Cos I have only heard about Kids from the Hall out of everything listed so far.
Nothing to see here.

The Escapist is based out of the Eastern seaboard of the US I believe.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
Actually, I do have a serious question. Should your contract with the Escapist end, will you be allowed to put the videos you made during that time on YouTube, as well? And will they get to keep them on the Escapist?

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
The escapist has a distribution contract with a time limit. If we split it would depend on the terms. If we and the escapist agreed to dissolve the contract, we would regain rights immediately. If not, then the escapist would retain rights for the duration of the period described in the contract, and upon expiry, we would regain rights.
However the licencing period is limited, so they would not get the videos for ever in any case.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
I can't help but shutter at the fact that LRR is being hosted in the same place as Apocalypse Lane... Then again they DO have Zero Punctuation and Movie Bob... They have a lot of videos for being a magazine. Anyhow good to hear that the contract is in your favor for video rights, I however think the fact that the videos will now earn you guys cash is a great benefit to all, more time for writing and producing for you, and better stuff for us (not that the current state yields bad content).

I've just seen this http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... -Ready-Run
What do you guys think?
I'm wondering if it will be on the front of there next video or not - I couldn't be bothered to read the text to find out.
Anyway I'm guessing that outro was just a one off joke aimed at this forum and isn't going to be the new intro?
Although I wouldn't mind it, it does seems to give the Escapist a little too much credit, they just pay for the video they don't make them.

AWESOME!!!!! ... even the "ha."
Best montage ever.
And if you had read the very short text you would have understood this is a video for people on the Escapist who aren't yet familiar with LRR.

I'd believe that "e" and "HA!" was a slight at certain members on the forums.
That said, if it WAS the usual card, I wouldn't care.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
I would imagine that the outro there symbolises the new and beautiful relationship between LRR and The Escapist, and that in the real videos the Escapist ident and the LRR intro will be separate, as demonstrated by other videos on the site.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
Just saw the intro to the escapist video.. Im sure Im not the only one who recognized allot of the videos in the montage.. The title card. is that the real deal? Its a pretty cool blend of the to but the HA.. just kinda irritates me still but I deal with it on the rest of my escapist watchlist.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
The "Ha!" was a joke, probably aimed at the people on these forums that wish that they could force violent death upon it. There's no ned to get riled up.

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
What I find funny is, even after the first video update, people are still anxious about the Escapist deal.
Even after the first episode I'm sure a few people will still have worries "What about the first CommodoreHustle!" They shall cry out "When will 64K be coming back they're not lost now your on the Escapist are they?" others will shout "OMG! Bill didn't have quite a bigger part as normal in that episode, do the Escapist not like him" DUN! DUN! DUN!
Get ready, the worry is just beginning.
I predict it will be about 4 to 5 videos before everybody has calmed down and completely settled into the system, that's when the Escapist force their secrete agenda down your throats and turn LoadingReadyRun into a pay per view site of people getting kicked in the balls and you will find out the real master mind behind this organization is Jeff - the guy from the video store! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Saving the video and frame-stepping through the montage was lots of fun. I wonder how long it will be until makes a list of every video in there, and exactly which frame was used. . .
