Just to confirm (this'll be a stupid question, I know..), once/if it's up to 50 shirts via pre-order, is that all that's being printed? Or more shirt pre-orders before the deadline means more shirts being made? Just hoping to still chip in within the next week or so..

Any pre-orders above the threshold will definitely be printed. Beyond that, we'll do an additional run shirts of a number based on how many pre-orders there were.
It's not going to be hard numbers.

There isn't a threshold at which we'll add the shirt to our permanent stock, because that's what we're trying to avoid by using the pre-order system.

If there's overwhelming demand, we could do a second pre-order run in the future, but adding to the permanent stock requires the up-front purchase of a bunch of t-shirts, with no guarantee that they will sell. We don't want to do that again, it costs us too much money.

And, clearly, isn't necessary.

If you order non-preorder stuff when you preorder a t-shirt does the normal stuff get shipped right away or does it wait until the preorder shirt is made? Is there an option to select how to handle it (i.e. save on shipping vs. want it now)?

Is it all a moot point because the stock and preorder merchandise gets shipped from different places?

I ordered buttons with my pre-order and got an e-mail saying they would hold the non-preorder items until the shirts were printed and ship it all at once as doing it otherwise would greatly increase shipping costs. I don't believe there is a "Ship my items as soon as they become available" option like there is with Amazon. At least not until LRR perfects their army of merch shipping robots.

Adding a shirt to permanent status after it sells like hotcakes is silly, because most people who would want it have pre-ordered it, and LRR's audience is only so big which means you are going to reach saturation very quickly. Leaving a ton of left over stock. I think this is a wise decision.

Shipping other items before the shirts are printed is silly because it would cost SO much (relative to their price) to ship buttons alone.

The shirts will be ordered as soon as the pre-order period is finished, and they will be shipped as soon as they are done printing (likely a week after that).
