Lost Premiere - chock full of spoilery goodness (duh)

Postby VanHelsing23 » 02 Feb 2010, 20:07

So...well I don't know quite what to say. Just talk amongst yourselves.
Note: I know I don't really have to say this on this forum, but if all your post will be is "I don't watch Lost.", then please don't bother.

I don't watch lost.

And I'm one of the crew. Now what're you gonna do? :p

Seriously though, I've been meaning to watch it.

Also, sine I've gotten the above out of the way hopefully no one will follow suit.

I don't watch Lost.

But I watched this episode. Needless to say, I was very confused. Since when could baldy not walk? And when did Pippin die? And also, when did they start fighting the fog's angry brother?

Also, why is it called Lost if they know exactly where they are and can return there?

Actually quite a few of the questions in that song were answered in the show. or at least provide some hints.

I enjoyed it, it confused the crap out of me for awhile, like it usually does. The only thing that bothered me was that Jack's hair was too long on the plane. I mean didn't he have a buzz cut originally?

It's an alternate reality, remember? Certain things are the same and certain things have changed. For example, Hurley is now apparently "the luckiest guy alive", which is clearly a very big change. It makes sense that smaller things would also change in the alternate reality so it makes sense that they might be wearing different clothes or have different haircuts on the flight.

I'm gonna go with the theory that only one of them is actually alive and it's all happening in the survivor's head while they're unconscious for some reason.

Like if it were in Ben's head while he's getting spinal surgery on the island, and Jack is actually his doctor but there's no mystery there he's just part of the Others as normal. Yadda yadda yadda.

'cos seriously, Lost is so freaky it can only be inside someone's head rationally.

I think the plane crash was actually a nuclear holocaust, and the entire series is people hallucinating because of radiation. Mutation explains all the fog monsters and assorted weirdness.

Except that would make 6 seasons of deep character development utterly pointless and the writers wouldn't screw their audience like that. Carlton and Lindelof have said multiple times it's not in someone's head, and that the ending will provide closure for the characters, because they know how invested the audience has become in them.

You know, because that always happens with long-running primetime series of declining popularity.

So you think they're lying? If you say so.
