It's too bad the LRR panel isn't a bit earlier, as that would allow getting into the Saturday night concerts before it gets too packed...but I'm not at all complaining because all the things I wanted to attend turned out to be on Saturday, the day I bought my one-day pass for on faith alone.

We should definitely plan a LRR fan meetup. Especially since I'm going solo.

*takes notes* Oh, don't mind me, I'm just going to stalk you.

Well, how would you folks like to meet? Would you like to just meet up somewhere at the con (or maybe outside) and find somewhere to chill or do you guys want to meet at a restaurant or something?

Why is the keynote at 3PM on Friday? I would have expected it to be saturday afternoon/evening, when the most people will likely be there.

Isn't... isn't the LRR Panel AFTER the concert?

*checks* it is, according to the site (Saturday night concert is at 8:30, LRR Panel at 10)
So, LRR should not effect you getting into the concert. Unless I am missing something. Which I may be... I do that sometimes.

Also, I am very openly stalking Matt. There, now he doesn't have to wonder if someone is stalking him.

Though I must say, I'm not as thrilled by the other panels as I thought I'd be. Which panels are expected to be good? Are the panels usually 80% industry talk? Is it really that exciting to hear people I've never heard of before talking about what they do?

Also, I'm curious about the booths. What kinds of things can I expect from them? Will I be able to preview upcoming games?

Sorry if I'm being overly questioning. It's just my first convention, and I'm not quite sure what to expect.

go to things and explore. You'll get your 50$ worth.

Thing is, I'm spending more than just $50.

Go take a look at the grid. The concert starts at 8:30, and runs all the way through til 1. This places the LRR panel smack in the middle.

Ah, I see. Thank you for that!
It still doesn't really prevent you from getting to the concert in a timely manner... though it does mean you'd have to leave halfway through.

Not true, because I'm actually only really interested in seeing Jonathan Coulton. There are several opening acts, and JoCo is the headliner. According to my sources from people who have been to many other PAXes, JoCo's set will probably start somewhere around 11-12, after the LRR panel is over (thank goodness). What I was saying is that by this point, the concert hall will be very packed and I'll be somewhere near the back. If LRR's panel was earlier in the day, I would show up to the concert at 8:30 and stay for the whole thing simply to get a good spot, but with the LRR panel in the middle I can't do that.
In any case, I don't really care that much. I'm just happy I'll get to see both LRR's panel and JoCo at all.

Also, I just found out that Bill Amend (the cartoonist of Foxtrot), who's doing a panel at 10am Saturday, is my friend's uncle. o0

all, the LRR-ers will be likely heading to the concert after our panel too. We'll probably be there in time for the end of P&S +JoCo.

Darn this timing. Retronauts and JoCo trying to tempt me away from LRR. Coulton is an amazing show, but this would be the third time. Hmmmm....Hopefully I can book it from the Retronauts panel to this

Indeed, there is nearly only one week left before the start of the convention, and precisely one week before I leave for Boston. Hurray for 11-hour drives!
