Cross your fingers boys and girls... also others,

Postby zfubarz » 27 Feb 2010, 16:14

While we're already a lock for most gold this year
If we get this curling gold we'll tie for most gold medals ever in a single winter Olympics.

and if we kick some American booty in hockey tomorrow we'll be at the most gold ever. Although that'll be tough.

*begins crossing as many joints as possible*

edit: WOOOO, tied for most gold in a year!!!

I will be waking up way too early to go into work to watch the game tomorrow. I am in Melbourne so it is a 7:15 am start for us. The Canadians in the Centre are going to watch the game on the big screen in the lecture theatre.

I think we can call this quite a successful Olympics.

I wish the canadians the best of luck then :)... Has NZ managed to get well any medals. I know winter sports is not our strong point, and we are tiny.

No metals for New Zealand. I can see New Zealand having some success at downhill skiing and snowboarding as you have proper mountains with snow on them.

I'm afraid for Vancouver's CBD if Canada loses tomorrow. Yay hockey riots. Hopefully protesters don't add to the mix of drunken crowds.

If Canada doesn't win hockey there will be destruction. It'll be a good time.

I really really really want them to win. Not just to get gold, but more specifically to beat the US. If it was anyone else I wouldn't care, but THE US CANNOT BEAT US IN HOCKEY. IT JUST ISN'T RIGHT!!!!

She says of the team that beat you in the prelims.

I legitimately don't care who wins this one. If it is the US, well then yeah go us! If it is canada, well you guys damned well deserve it and I wish I could be in canada to enjoy it with you.

It's going to be one hell of a good hockey game either way.

I really don't hold this tournament as much of anything.

2 complete NHL teams, playing on NHL size ice, with NHL officials...yea...

(For note; I was pulling for Sweden)

I'm thinking we won the wrong game (as I noted a week ago, I thought some angry canadians would be coming back with force after we won the round robin last week). And I Think this is for a simple reason:

Y'All like Hockey something vicious.

My only hope is that this doesn't go to a shootout either way. A decisive win for either team is the best possible outcome.

it doesn't go to shoot out, it goes to 4 on 4 sudden death. That might be EPIC. actually, I'm not sure about that, all I know is SUDDEN DEATH!!

DUDE, Indoor fireworks? You guys love your game enough to potentially burn everything to the ground.

Also: was I the only one singing the LRR Canadian Anthem just now?

Yeah...THAT was an awesome game throughout; both teams rawked, and it came down to an overtime goal.

Thanks for an epic ride, USA; you're awesome.

...oh and those few douche bags who kept crowing "LOLOL WE BEAT U AT UR NATIONAL SPORT" back in the 'play-offs'?

It took some doing, but I managed to watch the game. Glad I did! I was getting pretty worried after that late goal. So tense! But I'm so glad they came through. Gold on our home turf means a lot for this country.

GO CANADA!!!
