For me, I think the best thing about sex is the intimacy of it, and how you can get to be so close to someone who really cares about you, and, if they're a really good lover, about seeing you get off and enjoying that too.

I was just thinking about this. While I agree with Brad that having bits put inside me is really great, I have to say that my favorite part is the build up to sex. The time when the sex isn't expected and the guy is trying his damnedest to get into your pants and you are going to let him, but you haven't let him in on that secret yet. When the guy is running his hand up your waist and he's shuffling the cloth around so much until its bunched up and he finally makes contact with skin. You can feel him shift a little with excitement that he'd gotten that far and then he starts inching up the shirt until he reaches bra and then he shifts again. Then he goes for nipple and when he reaches it there is a more excited shift in his body. and then he starts to move lower and its the the point when he's exploring your body but he still doesn't know if he has the go ahead. Then you given him that go ahead and he's just so happy! I think that is my favorite part.

Sex for the sake of sex is a tad limited.

Sex as an expression of intimacy, care, compassion, and love by someone you trust more than most anyone else in the world is sublime.

Fall into love and just be with someone. Put sex from your mind, because it'll just distract you. Then, when you're least expecting it, it'll unfold on its own. And from there you just let things happen, laugh at your own nervousness and awkwardness, and just try things slowly.

Trust me, it's infinitely more rewarding than shacking up with someone who expresses an interest in sex but not much else.
