Pet names
Is there already a thread about this? I vaguely remember something like it somewhere. Might not have been here.
Now while I don't have a pet, nor have any plans to get one in a near future; I often think up what I would name a pet if I got one (the names tend to change often depending on what I'm into at the moment )
Currently Cirno and Patchouli (should give you an idea about what I'm into right now).
The idea for the thread came about after a friend gave his 2 cats awesome names.
So, what is your pet's names or what would you name pets if you had them?

Whenever I get a dog, it's going to be named one of two things.
If it's a husky, it's Arius.
If it's an english bulldog, it's Marlon Brando.

Well I never get to name any pets.
We have two guinea pigs, Amy and Kira.
We have two hamsters, Jason and Ginger.
We have a bearded dragon, Doc.
We have a Chinese water dragon, Vince.
Doc's my baby. Sits there, does nothing but enjoys the sun and enjoys his food.

My cats are Natasha and Nikolai. Just finished "War and Peace" before going to the shelter, and they're litter mates. I'm not terribly creative.

I've had 3 goldfish (sparky, spot and streaky), 3 hamsters (Timmy, Vanilla, and Rigsworth Fluffbutt Elvin Moule, or Rigsy for short) and if I get a dog I want it to be a little scruffy type mongrel and he shall be called Chips.

Re: Pet names
I had a cat named Nikki and a dog named Sasha. I currently have a puppy named Ripley.
None of these names were of my choosing, mind you.

Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

Re: Pet names
A few years ago I had a male & female black moor goldfish named Dagon & Hydra, respectively, & a blue beta named Randolph Carter.
Currently I have an adorable black cat named Inzana, after the child of the dawn in Lord Dunsany's book, "Time & the Gods". She's fortunate being a girl because if she were a boy she'd probably be named Captain Blasto!. Yes, much like Allen! the exclamation point would be part of the name.

If I ever get a dog, I'm going to name it, "Which Dog?" Including the question mark. Then, when people come over and ask me what my dog's name is, hilarity will ensue.

The name of the dog. Which dog? The dog on the sofa. Which dog?

Similarly, you could name him "Askum."

Re: Pet names
My current cats are named Leo and Misty. In the past I've also had cats going by Shadow and Ben. Never named any of them though. Were I to name any future cats though, probably Andrei or Sonya (War and Peace is both an amazing book(s), and a great source of names).

My dogs have been named Benson, Adrick, Cleo, and Maggie. Only Maggie was a name selected by our family; all the other dogs were second-hand.

I call my little brother stinky and he has taken that on and calls me that instead of my real name.

Re: Pet names
Let's see...had a whole ton of dogs but the most recent pair were a sheepdog named Geordie and a jack russell terrier named Wrecklin. Also had numerous fish but I don't think we named them much. Had a series of hamsters named Charlie, Lucy, Lauren, and Sooty.
Most recently we had one guinea pig named Frank(enpig) and the survivor of the two is intermittently called Shearer or Newc(astle).
If I ever get a cat it will be a mackerel tabby and shall be known as Cromwell.

Re: Pet names
I have a cat named Maggie and another named Cinder.
I have a dog named Buddy (oh so original).
My previous dog who passed away was named Megabyte, but we called him Meggy.
I'm going to mention this and most likely get it wrong, but since she never posts I feel fine doing it:
My girlfriend's dog is Alexander Tigger Bounce-Bounce <Last name withheld for safety reasons>.
He has various nicknames he responds to, including Sasha and Squash. There are more, I believe, but I don't know them.

Re: Pet names
Oh yes my friends had a FFVII naming scheme some time ago so I told them my first dog (on my own) would be named Sephiroth, even though I never played FFVII. I... might not do that anymore.

Re: Pet names
I have two dogs, a mastiff named Kilo and a pit/boxer named Rocco (he came with it).
I have seven fish. Three guppies named Nova, Fissure and Alphonse and four Otocinclus cats named Wallace, Gromit, Siren and Hydra and yes, I can tell them apart.
I am dork.

One day I shall name a cat Schroedinger.
Re: Pet names
My folks have 4 cats, that go by a variety of names, which I will now list for you.
Wick AKA brother, bear, boycat, buddy, papa bear
Bit AKA little bit, Icanhascheezburger, cheeseburger, short-round, fats, chubs
Abbie AKA weasel, skinny, mini, monkey, abuelita, longcat, tiny
Nicky AKA la femme nikita (or just femme), fuzzbut, stinky, hairball
There are others, but most of them are just combinations of the above.
edit: and if I ever get one of my own, it'll be named Helix (a pun on "he licks", "felix the cat" and a reference to the alpha helix)

Re: Pet names
About four? years ago my parents adopted three cats, my mom named one and my sister and I named the other two. They are called Emmy, Lexibelle, and BENJAMIN DIABOLICAL. Yes, you have to pronounce the caps.
When my sister got her first cat she named it Bill Murray.
There's cat that sleeps on my balcony that I ball Basil, because it eats my basil tree. My neighbors tried to report me for having a cat without paying the pet rent, but they couldn't prove it was mine.
