Neat! I like the postcard overlay photos. There's a really neat set of them from WWII Russia showing sections of either Moscow or Saint Petersburg with war damage compared to their current states.

The guy who does the realistic human sculptures weirds me out a little. A little too close to the uncanny valley.

I like that specific sculpture because it gives off a depressing vibe, like when the savage in Brave New World was being 'civilized.' His posture is far too good and doesn't really fit with his hair, the positioning of the legs give off a kind of obedience and fear, his lands look apprehensive &etc. It's weird that the sculpture being gigantic is probably the least strange thing about it.

Anyway:

Actually I was thinking more in the style of Gene Kelly.

Now, I love this guy, because he just screws with perception.

Thomas Barbey: What he does is he takes a bunch of photos (his own), and then, in the dark room, splice them together and melds them into shit like this:

This one is "O Duomo Mio"

It's amazing because for a second you think it's a real place.

Others are more crazy, and surreal.

If you like stuff like that, the painter Rob Gonsalves is also fantastic.

Picking a favourite of his to share is even harder, but:

I thought this came out alright too, if a little cliché. Also, about a year old.
