It's fantastic. Have you read Guns, Germs, and Steel by him?

A Storm of Swords.
Wow. It's hard to wrap my head around how vastly different this book is from the last.

Just finished NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. It was scary, but I found it most interesting because of the two main characters having such clear, distinct voices and vastly different world views. Very well done.

Didn't enjoy clash of kings. I felt like I really had to trudge through it.

I can never remember the order of them because I bought an ebook version that has them all in one file and so I never really had to look at the title of whichever book I was currently reading. My favourite one was the third one thought. I liked the 4th one less, and the 5th one I found meh. It seems like as the series goes by, more and more of the books are about nothing. I'm waiting to see if these things become consequential later on.

But but but Clash of Kings has the most amount of Tyrion awesomeness so far!

Tyrion is awesome in all the books he appears in, though.

If not for Arya's story line and Tyrion's I wouldn't have made it through a clash of kings.

Man, I don't feel like anything good ever happens in these books. It's quite depressing.

I agree. I was really enthusiastic for a particular character's chapters every time I saw those come up, then when they died for what I felt was an out-of-character, bullshit reason I had to stop reading for about a week

I don't know whether to spoiler that or not, I was fairly non-specific

In any other series that might be considered a spoiler, for this one? It's more like a feature.
I've trod my way through all 6 and my favourite is fortunately still alive, but George R. R. Martin's mind is not a happy place.

Just finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It's so well written, but it's so dense with feels. Er... I mean, I'm sure it was just dust getting in my eyes. For the entire final third of the book.

qft. Also, I lent it to my mom immediately after I finished the book. I wonder how she felt at the end.

One "silver linings playbook" later I'm crying. That was a good little uplifting book that I needed.

My rate of reading has suddenly gone up to one book per day, with my daily structure having been shot to hell. I'm currently two-thirds of the way through His Dark Materials and remembering exactly why I didn't enjoy these books 5 years ago

I'm devouring William Gibson's Count Zero right now. Man, I love cyberpunk. Think I might try to get my hands on Mona Lisa Overdrive next, or maybe the short story collection he put together before Neuromancer, Burning Chrome.

Finished it. Oh man, SO GOOD. A very different beast to Neuromancer for definite. Didn't quite reach the heights of poetic hallucination that Neuromancer did, but man. What a book.

Haven't been able to get my hands on MLO, but I've made a start on Virtual Light instead. Interesting stuff.

I've been plowing through Ebert's Your Movie Sucks since he passed away about a month ago. I'm a couple of stories short from finishing AC Doyle's His Last Bow as well, but can't seem to gather the energy.
