Tonight: Steak marinated in Worcestshire & soy sauces, with garlic and brown sugar; served with grilled asparagus, red onion, red pepper, and fennel. Phenomenally delicious.

Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
Went out to Chili's with the family. Got $2.99 Top Shelf Rita, Sweet Corn soup, and a double combo fajita (split with my dad).
Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
I fried up some lunch meat and put it on a sandwich with likewise fried onions, some melted cheese of the six-cheese-mix variety, sauerkraut, ranch dressing, and salt and vinegar potato chips. It was fantastic.

It is amazing. I've been making it a lot. My fridge is filled with portabellos and potatoes now.

A stale toffee donut at a tim hortons (one in the middle of nowhere at midnight so most of their stuff was stale).
Had a bit of heartburn.

At the risk of forfitting my citizenship, where do you find a Tim Hortons where the donuts aren't stale? I kid, I kid...they're usually pretty good.
Last night I had a pretty awesome burger at the very old Irish pub that just reopened. The pub isn't as good as it was, but the food was pretty good.

The ones in town are almost always okay.
The one out on the highway is hit and miss at night, mostly because they simply can't make new batches as they won't sell much at that hour. I suspect they're also understaffed.
Also just made a stirfry. So many mushrooms.
Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
I've got a tasty looking cheesecake setting in the Fridge.

Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
Improvised greek salad for dinner. Romain, tomato wedges, red onion, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, olive oil, white wine vinegar. Basically a bunch of leftover ingredients from Kathleen's Superfresh Zucchini salad that I made on Friday.
Also, three hard boiled eggs. Protein nom nom nom.
Also, made Alton Brown's blueberry muffins yesterday. Easiest muffins I've ever made, and they came out absolutely perfect. Only made six, gave away three, ate the other three straight away. D:
Trying to resist making an oatmeal raisin cookie right now... I'm still really hungry.

Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
I really want to cook and bake, and since I'm off during the week, I can cook more stuff. However, I was talking about this with my co-worker, and these recipes sounded good (I have yet to try them).
1) Take one watermelon, make balls, then macerate in Coconut Rum. (I don't like coconut rum though, so maybe whiskey?)
2) Scoop out some chocolate ice cream, then top with the best Extra Virgin Olive Oil you can find, then sprinkle a little bit of coarse sea salt on top.
3) Slice oranges, then top with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Now I'm hungry too. And it's 3 am.

Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
Watermelon and whiskey would absolutely not work. Give the rum a shot(heh), or try vodka.
And why would someone ruin those lovely strawberries by putting them on a cheesecake!? Ew.
Last night I pan-seared chicken breasts with fresh rosemary from my garden, coarse salt and pepper, and lemon, and finished it in the oven. Also managed to burn myself AGAIN.

Blasphemy! Cheesecake is the greatest cake ever, and it's proximity to strawberries only enhances the awesomeness inherent in strawberries. Only some kind of crazy person would dare disparage cheesecake. Unless you're lactose intolerant, and then I can kind of understand. But cheesecake is still awesome.

Cheesecake is not a cake! It's really more of a custard. Actually pretty much nothing with "cake" in its name is actually a cake. Carrot cake and fruitcake are muffins. Angel food cake is a foam. Ice cream cake is just moulded ice cream. Mooncakes are pastries. Teacake is more like bread. EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS A LIE.
But I will agree with you that it is certainly king of its kind. Goddamn I love cheesecake. Especially flavored cheesecakes...

Little off topic, but those are almost exactly what I imagine penis heads would look like if you severed them and sliced them down the middle.
And a floral bowl is exactly what a serial kliller would do if he needed to store any penis heads cut in such a way. A nice little bowl. Like popourri.

Grilled pork chops with my Goes On Damn Near Everything spice rub, version 3.
Tomorrow, 10 hour beefy black bean and corn chili. Recipe slightly altered because someone got jalapenos mixed up with poblanos.

Re: What did you recently eat/cook?
Man, I love poblanos. So delicious! Any chance you want to share that rub recipe with us? Right now I tend to use smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and a touch of cumin.
