thatlaurachick wrote:I second the Panera recommendation, and not just because I'm from St. Louis. I love the Strawberry Poppyseed and Chicken salad. (greens, FRESH strawberries, poppyseed dressing, chicken and walnuts) Soooooo awesome when strawberries are in season. Or a nice bread bowl of chicken and wild rice soup in the winter.

Careful...being from St. Louis as well, the mere mention of toasted rav's could very well trump anything in this thread.

Yesterday I made Pad Thai with Japanese eggplant, and HATED it. The Pad Thai was okay, I keep forgetting that I don't really like it, but the eggplant was TERRIBLE. I much prefer the other varieties of eggplant.

Today I forgot that I had to make chili for the Weenie Roast In Celebration Of Some Kind Of Pagan Holiday Or Something, All I Know Is Free Beer And Sausages. So I threw onions, roasted peppers, beef, and spices in a slow cooker and set that shit on High.

No beans? That's hardly chili... friend.

I found a great lunch place near my work yesterday and had a link each of bratwurst and kielbasa, with sauerkraut and mustard, plus mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh sliced veggies, pickles, and watermelon. It was great! Then last night was pizza.

And now I had my favourite breakfast, leftover reheated pizza with fried eggs on top! Only this time I added some pastrami and seared it in the pan, and hot sauce. Also coffee. Mmmmmmm...

@metcarfre if I had any beans, they'd be in there. Then again, there are people who will slit your throat for making chili that's anything but "meat and heat". I've been told this might be used for chili dogs, so I don't think beans would work in that case.

Today I made a Key Lime Pie, no photos because it wasn't very attractive, but it was very tasty and surprisingly easy to make.

Trying out a new pork loin recipe tonight, I expect it to be good, but I prefer my pork loin to be spicier/garlickier. Update after consumption.

One of my most favorite ways to cook chicken involves around 80 cloves of garlic. Seriously. Sometimes I use up to 100. It tastes like awesome.
