Re: The Dream Thread
Oh it's a pretty ghetto costume, I just did it for LOLs:
The wings are attached to the shirt (as is the tail that you can't see). In my dream I was also wearing the mask. Although apparently I wore all of that without noticing I was. I was shocked when I got to work and I was wearing the costume.
Weird dream is weird!

Re: The Dream Thread
I had a dream that I got punched in the nuts by nearly every member of the LRR crew and many forum members.
There was a group of people from the forum (each represented by their avatars on a human body. We were playing various board and card games and I kept making jokes about counting as "too much to tally" at first she snickered, then it just got old but I couldn't stop. It got to the point that I fell to the floor after someone punched me and I said "wow there are too many punches to tally!" and it was a hail of punches and I woke up laughing.

Re: The Dream Thread
Well, I have now officially died twice in my dreams.
The first time, I was in some kind of capsule in outer space. I saw a flashing red warning light, and the hatch at the back of the capsule opened up. I knew I was dead and had a little bit (always hard to comprehend time in dreams) to contemplate that fact. Everything eventually faded black and I woke up.
In the other dream, however, I got shot. I think it must have insta-killed me, but I didn't wake up that time. Instead, everything exploded into colors, some flying past me, others slowly trudging by. I kept seeing flashes of people and things I knew, but they only appeared for a moment before whizzing away. I don't remember how that dream ended.
I can, however, conclusively say that dying in a dream won't, in fact, kill you.

I had a dream that I met Tim Minchin, but I had to go because I was running late for my morning classes...

Re: The Dream Thread
I had a dream where somehow my tongue got slit near the end, and I was passing out from blood loss. My family didn't know what was wrong in till I spat out foamy purple blood.
First oral dream where it didn't feature me losing teeth. Can any psychologist enlighten my what does losing teeth mean in a dream?.
I still need to finish that Rollercoaster concept I dreamed of in RCT3 called Exo-Skeleton. A sort of spiritual sibling to 'Nemesis' in Alton Towers UK. Part subconsciously inspired by the rollercoaster on Nightwish - Imaginarium concept art. A slick silvery and midnight blue colour.
I do enjoy reflecting on my dreams and guessing where each element is inspired from. The teeth thing is forever a puzzle.

If you find out about the teeth thing, post it here, I have those dreams a lot. Sometimes loosing teeth, or more often chipping and breaking.

Re: The Dream Thread
I had a dream where I was dancing with my girlfriend at some ballroom thing. Then a group of demons came in and I had to fight them all. But the weirdest part was that individually, they each knew a form of martial art that I knew, which meant I knew the weaknesses and how to beat them. But their numbers and grouping up meant I had to watch my own weaknesses while exploiting theirs.
I gotta admit, I had a lot of fun in that dream. I think I just miss sparring with people who could challenge me.

Re: The Dream Thread
I recently found out that losing teeth in dreams is a thing -- I'd never heard of it before. Wouldn't have a clue what it means, if nothing else then because there's no real agreement on what any dream means, but be assured, at least, it's quite common.

Recently the dreams I can remember end up with me hugging/kissing girls I know/have known. A different one each time. Not quite sure what to make of it.

It might be an in-built terror that's evolved due to when you're young you're told to look after your teeth because the new teeth that come after your baby teeth dropping out are the only ones you have. The emotion I recall from my dream at the moment of losing a tooth is remorse/horror because I know a new tooth won't grow back.
That's all I can guess.
I heard someone mention it's to do with financial worries. That makes sense, but it you could also say it's relating to chocolate cravings, which I also certainly have.
IMO the worst dreams to have (excluding violent/gorey/death-themed dreams/monsters) are the ones where you dream you're intimate with someone (whilst being single IRL) you know you'll never be with. You then spend the rest of the day feeling rather depressed.
Re: The Dream Thread
Had a pretty interesting dream last night (in the few hours I managed to sleep). So anyway I was a companion of the Doctor (Only instead of Matt Smith he looked more like Wolverine). Amy and Rory were also there and I'm pretty sure I wasn't from Earth. Never really went into what planet I was from but it wasn't Earth that's all I know. Anyway something had happened to the Amy and Rory's timeline so we had to go back in time and (do something that is not allowed in the real Dr Who) talk to the younger versions of the two. Either way a couple of things happened but at the end I've somehow gained an orphaned child. We weren't overly sure what to do with it till I suggested dropping her at my home plant. At which point we put two and two together, since the Dr had dropped me off at my parents when I was a baby. Pretty much my entire dream was a paradox.
And then I woke up for the 100th time that night.

Ummm no... Pretty sure I didn't adopt the kid, though that could have been an interesting twist as well.

Re: The Dream Thread
Yeah well the whole... Holding myself as a baby was kinda an interesting feeling. And it started the whole paradox cycle in my head, which is why I dislike time travel.

Re: The Dream Thread
Is that a paradox or is it a closed loop? There's nothing actually paradoxical about that I can see - just a weird, time-travel dependent loop.
But then, I had a dream the other day that I kept driving back and forth down a freeway because I kept forgetting things. Like my car.

Ork Go-Gangers are blocking the advance of my ninja unit, so I send in my knights thinking the orks must be low alignment, but then I roll a critical glitch and my nexus explodes as the announcer calls out an enemy penta-kill.

Re: The Dream Thread
So I'm in this building, I'm not sure what type, but I know there's a convention there so its a good thing so far. I walk into a bathroom and walk up to a sink where theres for on one side and four on the other. At the sink across from me theres a wig next to it, and I can instantly tell it's a Jaden Yuki wig, however it appears there's nobody at the sink.. at first. Looking where there should be somebody I can just TELL there is though nothing is there.
As I soak my hands in the water at my sink I just start talking. I forget what I say but in the dream I'm normal me so it was probably something like "Having fun here" or "Hey how are you". Suddenly I hear a response of "You're not scared?". I walk around to the other side and stop at the sink before the person and say, "Of course not, I'm Robert" and I put out my hand to shake. Suddenly a girl appears, she's short about 5'0, but looks to be 20-ish. She shakes my hand but I don't get her name, whether I can't remember it or she didn't say I don't recall.
I tell her it's a neat trick that she can bend light, while I point to the light and make a line in the air with my finger to her and show how it bends around her. She states that she can only do it for a month at a time and I mention how awesome it still is. She was rather cute for what I can recall. She started to put on her wig and pin it up to her head and suddenly my dream changed to some chinese girl and other dude kung fu fighting down a mountain on logs. All the while I was up top getting blamed for it as people were tryin to figure a way to get them back up.
Kinda wish I could have the same dream as the first one so I can recall more details about it, it was a rather nice one.

Re: The Dream Thread
I almost never dream, and when I do I pretty much never remember it for more than a few moments after waking. In the past two weeks I have had maybe three dreams, and that's a lot by my standards. In the past five years I've had two that I can remember the details of. One of them was last night.
There were four others with me, though I can't remember who. We were in a two storey house that was one of the other four's home and were playing some sort of game based on Lord of the Rings (some sort of bizarre charades/trivia/LARP thing that in the light of day makes no sense whatsoever). We were in a carpeted room that was empty except for a simple wooden chair that I was sitting in while the others looked at me. Everybody was laughing at some sort of joke, I vaguely remember the 'You shall not pass' line being yelled, when I noticed the tickling sensation of something small crawling up my arm. I looked down to see a small, pink, somewhat translucent scorpion. I calmly walked out of the room, knelt in the doorway and gently picked up the scorpion, placing it on the carpet in the hallway, then walked back to the chair. The instant I sat down the carpet exploded into a swarm of the tiny scorpions, which immediately crawled all over me covering me head to toe and stinging and stinging before I woke up.
So that was fun.
