So I've been playing Persona 4 Golden on my Vita (SOOOOOOO GOOD!) and I've just 'rescued' Kanji. This has always been a somewhat emotional moment for me because I identify very closely to Kanji. His feelings as a teenager are very close to mine overall. I know it would probably have been a pain and the ass but it's a shame that the chance wasn't taken to make Kanji into the character they wanted him to be including making him a romance option. That probably would still have been too much for the general audience but it's sorta sad, especially since I like the few time he flirts with your character.

Then again, the fact that you can't romance him is also a key part in telling that story. Think of how rebellious he was prior to the beginning of his storyline, then how he progresses. He may not be ready to date or have a romance with another man just yet, seeing as an integral part of his story is him coming to terms with his sexuality and deciding that it is okay and he is happy with himself.
