What's Your LRR Forum Personality
I was having a little talk with Hakaryu a few minutes ago, he thinks that there is no place for him here anymore and I say p'shaw to that. All he needs is a personality. I think of myself as an 'idiot' here and I suggested that he should be a flamboyant 50 miles out of the closet homosexual who is trying to be straight but fails (he laughs but thinks that's redundant on the forum). But it made me think, what are your personalities here (if one at all)?

Oh yeah!
*wonders why hak hasn't weighed in on the gay thread*
...I like to think I'm myself on the forums: a teenaged manchild capable of switching from pure juvenility to witty banter or srs bznz at the drop of an anything really, but who finds it sometimes difficult to admit he's wrong, or let go of a grudge.

It's an underwater coral cave that I found on a Star Wars fan fiction website 10 years ago.
Also, I think Hakaryu is celebrating the Prop 8 thin in his own way.

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
No.
It's from a hand drawn music video for a song I like.
The plot of the MV is basically that one of the minions in a video game idealizes the hero of the video game, and wants to be him, that clip is from his day dream, where he dons the hero's helmet, and powers up to save the day.
...Watch the video here
EDI: OH YAY AMBIGUITY!
...Both of our avs are underwater.
I can shut up now...
Also, I meant the gay thread, not the prop 8 thread.

Basically my regular personality (when not dealing with parents or bosses), with the weirdness censor turned WAY down.

It's a drawing.
Of a Daydream.
Of a character in a video game.
I think I've made my case.

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
Mine's just my normally personality, distractable, kind of wordy and pedantic at times, sarcastic and a bit more than a bit eccentric, but, for the most, part, benign.

Oh, you're pedantic, with the misplaced capitals and and comma splices up the yin-yang?
I guess I could be considered a long-winded pedant who attempts - through hyperbolic and over-the-top rants - to amuse others. *hope-hope*

I'm not sure that I have a particular forum personality that's distinct from my own. I'm pretty much the same guy here as I am for real.

I do still misplace capitals and use a lot of commas. That's why, when I'm doing something more important than conversing in a forum, I edit, a lot.
(start with a lot, end with a little that says more).

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
I miss Hak.
I tend, like in real life, to listen (aka lurk) more than anything, and not speak up unless I've got something to say. Unless I'm being silly, which is a lot of the time, or nattering on about games.

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
I like to think of my posts as what I would actually say.. If there was no chance I would get killed for saying it... and I could actually talk to people I don't know face to face without being utterly polite. So the way I post is pretty much how I talk to my friends, 'cus were all friends here, right?

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
I agree with GreigKM.
I try as much as possible to write as I would speak. It's my way of trying to be personable in a world where we are all just little pictures and clusters of ASCII or Unicode.
As for my forum niche, or whatever, my stereotype that I am, I suppose I come close to 'just some guy' here. On a normal forum I would be the weird guy who likes Linux and stuff, but no. Here, I'm pretty run-of-the-mill. I think that's probably why I play up my Irishness on the forum sometimes. <shrug> I like being Irish. So I suppose you could call me the Irish guy? I dunno, there's Thysane and at least one other who are Irish, but they're not here as often.

Often outnumbered, never outpunned.
Note: in Ireland 'ye' is used as the plural of 'you'. It rather neatly avoids confusion online.

I feel that i'm the nervious guy who, on occasion, makes a cock up and offends people by accident.

Same as aeric, but I'm more quiet then I usually am. Half the time I'm worried I'll upset someone in some way with some thing in some...manner

Re: What's Your LRR Forum Personality
I'm pretty much just me. I mean, I try to be clever about it, but that's true of me when I'm around anyone.
Why does Hak think there's "no place for him"?
We're just a place to hang out, there needn't be a reason to.

Concur with Grahams last statement... not that I have a special "role" about here, but nobody's gonna kick me out, and it's a good place to come and veg for a bit, ya know? Good peoples, good jokes, good times. I'm me, and I'm here 'cause I like it here.
