TorrentReactor (TR) is well-known for carrying out pranks to upset copyright holders and the organizations that represent them. A case in point is the shipping of condoms to the RIAA and MPAA earlier this year via partner site Vertor.

Well, y'see; with the massive concentration of so many dickheads in those two organizations, it's obvious they'd go through a vast quantity of condoms - Vertor is just trying to be helpful.

Anyways:

This could be a prank TorrentReactor is using to get some publicity, but I suspect it isn’t, and instead a clever move to try and get more leverage in future battles with the RIAA and other organizations.

The former town of Gar will still be subject to Russian laws, but there’s nothing to stop TR having local laws that permit certain activities that suit its {anti-RIAA/MPAA} business needs. If they have operations setup there who will the RIAA turn to to shut them down? The local government? Not likely as it’s the management of the site.

I think a LRR missile complex (like Penny Arcade featured, and lead to the creation of the Deep Crow) would be freakin awesome. The idea of a huge, (literally) underground fanbase (haha, unintentional) has the most incredibly geeky, rediculous, hilarious, brilliant feel to it.

That's what I'm doing, if I win the lottery. Buying and converting a missile complex into a fan hangout/comunity centre.
