Re: Where do you want to go? (the travel plans thread)
I'd really like to do a roadtrip through the US west of the Mississippi. It just seems odd to me that I've spent my entire life in this country without ever having crossed the Mississippi, so heading out west has always been appealing.
Ask me about the Steve Flaig Experience.
Re: Where do you want to go? (the travel plans thread)
I think I want to stay home for a little while. I have been travelling a lot recently and it's nice to actually be home. But then again, I just got back so perhaps the home euphoria will wear off and I'll be ready to go again.
At some point I would like to visit Asia and maybe go to England to visit my family there. I think the middle east would also be very fascinating, as long as I am careful about which countries I visit. I'd also like to explore the east coast of Canada eventually, since it seems like such a beautiful prt of the country.

Re: Where do you want to go? (the travel plans thread)
I usually don't travel much and prefer staying at home where it's safe and nothing out there in the big world can harm me (or so I tell myself). But there's still one dream I nurture despite my fears and doubts.
I want to stand in front of the great cathedrals of Europe, gazing up at the towers in awe and I want to climb down in the catacombs of the old churches to learn what history has buried beneath them.
I want to see the Sistine Chapel, Mona Lisa, the classic masterpieces of Italy, France and Spain to see for myself what legacy artists before me have left to the world.
I want to touch the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum and Stonehenge just to feel that they're real and to know that I have been there to see these wonders for myself.
I want to experience a musical in Royal Albert Hall, see a play in an ancient greece theater and I want to see where the famous philosophers of the west lived and died.
Alas, so much culture to take in, I am but one woman and a poor one at that. But to dream is free.

I want to go to Vancouver, BC this weekend for Anime Evolution. Regretably, that trip had to be canceled.
On the plus side, the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival is coming up in Portland, OR the first weekend in October. I already have room reservations & I should probably be ordering my plane ticket very soon. This will be my third year & it's always a blast but I'm especially looking forward to it this year because they'll be presenting the world premere of the HPLHS's "Whisperer in Darkness" movie.
If any other LRR fans will be there lemme know. . . . Jer?

Well, I would also like to attend Anime Evolution this year. However, I WILL be attending AE next year. Pricing flights made me realize it's feasible, even affordable if others from the US are interested as well. So, time to get a passport and lobby for a place to crash.
I want a Pinkie launcher.

Jeepers, I'm in the same city as AE, with nothing going on this weekend, and I'm not going.
But then, I don't like anime... sorry to all you other LRR fans though.

Um, you remember it's taking me 12 MONTHS to save up for this? And that's assuming I can get a full-time job in the next month?

I would probably have a year geeking out and going to the various Cons, as well as places like Australia or Japan, places that are really different, but not too dangerous as I'm a total coward.

high five!
anywho, on a serious note: i plan on hitting up Philly for RT Philly (fan-run Rooster Teeth event), which will be the same weekend as my birthday.
also would love to go to Emeryville in California, for the sole purpose of eating at the restaurant owned by Green Day's bass player.
other than that there really isn't anywhere else i'm itching to go.
