It was a good thing. I was a bit nervous before hand though.

I finally watched Twilight. It was horrible. However, I watched it with the Rifftrax playing, so it was fuckin' HILARIOUS!

It's the last night of my holiday and I now realise I am too old for family holidays.

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Hey, 1) if it just started, there may be more to come soon; deep-tissue injuries like that can be quite fascinating to track of the surprisingly long time it takes for them to clear up.
2) if there's a small cross-section to the impacted area, and you had a LOT of pain at the time, it's likely that injury 'went deep'.
So don't sell it short, it hurt a lot and had you worried, but (hopefully) it seems that your body is mending better than you expect (always better to be a disappointed pessimist than the alternative )

Absolutely. I think I was mostly just worried because of how long it took to heal last time. Best part of that, I hurt it that time by GETTING OUT OF A CHAIR BADLY! AND I was there to get a vaccination, so I left the building limping and clutching my arm. Probably looked like I got the shit kicked out of me.

...I went to my steam library for some obtuse reason, and saw in there a game I never bought, never redeemed as a gift, and hell, never wished for.
Not that it was bad, but not worth wishing for.
So here I am, installing Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, off steam, for magically free.
And I'm not sure if that's a win.
EDIT: oh, it was added to the Humble bundle. I thought it might have been, but aubergine didn't own the game. She never linked it to her steam account though.

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
One of my friends just made a huge post on her latest IVF attempt. I know she and her husband have spent more than most international adoptions cost for their first IVF baby. This attempt was the last possible for them, but they still refuse to adopt. They want a baby that is "theirs."
I really want to be mad at her because... WTF?! There are millions of children that need loving homes. Those in foster care who might want two parents devoted just to them. Orphans in war torn and 3rd world countries. But you insist on a child with your genes instead?
But then, she was my matron of honor, and I really love her. I know having a child meant the world to her. She gave up her career to be a SAHM.
Why does someone who used to be my best friend have to embody everything I hate about parenthood?

I always take a fatalist view about all this effort to provoke pregnancy - "maybe you're not meant to pass on your genes?"

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Honestly, that's how I feel too. I *can* be pregnant and refuse because of (first and most important) TONS of complications and (second) my genetic mutations don't need to be inflicted on anyone else. So if I ever feel mature enough to have a kid I *will* adopt or foster parent.
I want a Pinkie launcher.
Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
I'm not super enthused and demanding to be a parent, I think I would be good at it, but I wanted to start young if I was going to have kids. That said, I do sometimes wish I could experience pregnancy. To that end I've considered being a surrogate for a friend, but I couldn't guarantee that I could walk away from a child after carrying it for that long. It's a complicated conundrum.
In the end, you play the cards that life deals you. I haven't needed to face that hand yet, so I'm avoiding it for the time being.

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Yesterday in Guild Wars I was asked to preside over a marriage for two members of my alliance while a third kept shouting from a distance about how he was in love with the bride.
... I'm still not sure what to think about that particular chain of events, bit it makes me question my decisions in life...

Just get a tapeworm and then shit all over your house. Same thing as having a kid, really.

I don't think I've been so thorougly insulted and instantaneously pissed off at someone in my life. Seriously... if I were a mod, you'd be banned right now. As it is, you're now foe-listed and that's the first time I have ever used that function.
Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
I got a sushi cook book today, as a joke gift, and really like it
I now want to learn Japanese again
My phone can't read Kanji
I'm too poor to get a tutor/rosetta stone

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Dominos got my order correct today. Now, while that sounds like a small win this is the fourth time I've ordered from them and the first time they got it correct.
Also found some very cheap anime figures for $15-30 that I usually see going for $50-60.

Your avatar is the bad kInd of creepy.
Chrushet is asking that one of you change as many people here don't read names, but look at avatars.
I'd prefer both of you change.
