So I just came from the Mortal Kombat ZP review and holy crap did those Doctor Who complaints in the comment section bother me. I don't care if they don't like it, but they seem to be going out of there way to convince other people its bad which is just... well, wrong if you ask me.

Might get it for my little sister as a congrats on graduating college/good luck at Uni present... I remember the first time she showed me the image on DeviantArt, was good times!

Curiously, in a completely unrelated matter, I actually went and found the image on DA again this morning, and noticed the update saying it was now available as a T-shirt. Quite the coincidence!

It's a thread on the E; what did you expect, reasoned debate and sensible discussion?

Unfortunately, as clever as Yahtzee is, he attracts the loudest, rabidest, stupidest fans, and they'll take any offhand thing he mentions and run with it. It's like the Minute of Hate from 1984 - they find a 'common enemy' dictated to them by their leader, then whip themselves into a rage over it.

Or, if you prefer, they're like a cage of monkeys who have suddenly seen a new, faeces-free object at which to fling their poo.
An engine that both consumes and creates malice.

I don't know what that means.

Regardless you are right, I have never held a respect for the Escapist community so I don't know why I should have expected any positivity out of them.

Off topic, but about the ZP comments. I'm really more appalled by the sheer number of people who think Marty McFly could win in a fight against Sam Beckett!

But I didn't see a lot of negative comments on Doctor Who - a few, yes, but I saw plenty of people in favor of New Who

You're joking. I want that shirt so bad my wallet is already burning. Too bad I neither have money nor a credit card with which to buy it. But that shirt is so cute my ovaries are hurting.

Ah yes, I'm enjoying that. It's basically a running gag at this point. Although, to be fair, the first and third times the rest of them 'died' as well.

And the second time was done as an important plot point. Plus, the fifth time hardly counts since it was entirely fictitious due to the meddlings of House. So really, Rory's only died once (he was close to death the fourth time, but survived, hence the medical aid)

Okay, I know I'm gonna get lambasted for this, but I genuinely cannot remember which episode the first line is referring to.

I feel no end of shame for that...

My guess: Rory's ponytail.

Personally I was just excited to see the foreshadowing of the Valeyard. :)

Can I be your boyfriend then?

In other news, my brother got a mix of the Doctor Who theme mashed up with some Green Day, and I am forcing him to email it to me.

Is that from the American Edit remix? I've got that. It's cool, it's got samples of the Dalek's rant from Genesis of the Daleks.

I don't think I enjoyed tonights episode of Doctor Who. It didn't really seem to do anything that hadn't been done in it before + I saw the twist coming from a mile off.

It was barely a twist to be honest. From the first scene with the Flesh it was obvious what was coming.

And yeah, I mildly unimpressed with this episode as well. Probably the weakest of this (very strong) season I think.

Everything in this episode was a set up for next week, and yet nothing really happened. I won't say that I didn't enjoy it, but its definitely the weakest episode this season has had.

That being said, that may just be because every single episode up to this point has been, pretty much, pure gold, and so the contrast between gold and not gold is perhaps more stark than it would be where the episodes had a broader spectrum of average to amazing.
Essentially, I'm not going to write this one off until I've seen how it relates with what happens next week, because it could improve with hindsight!
