I fear you are correct, sir. It just felt jarring.

Agreed, certainly, but the two-parter went out of its way to make the point that even the RC clone kind counted as sentient. That was the point of the repeated "Whyyyyyyyy?" bits.

I think the idea there was that the sentient copies could communicate with the rest of the Flesh, but the regular Flesh on its own couldn't think or feel any pain.

Please no D:

I still think it'll be a flesh version of The Doctor that she killed, as in she's the person in the space suit.

I'm done with speculating now. I'm just trying not to think about what could happen and just let what will happen, happen. So excited about tonights episode.

Now that was an episode. I didn't call it until the hints started coming in.

Definitely a fitting end to this half of the season. Also the hints were dropped perfectly, so you could figure out what was happening only moments before it was revealed (or at least that's how it was for me). Definitely on par with the rest of the season, I just hope they don't let us down in a couple of months time!

The ending really made me excited.
One of the best character developement/mythos building episodes in my opinnion.

As an adventure episode it wasn't that exciting as it seemed to be a weird build-up not quite whole episode loose-end typing/teasing faffing about episode so it left you feeling some-what empty, but very hungry for more. I'm so hungry for more Doctor Who. I am very intregued now, more so than before.

very enjoyable twists and turns tonight for sure, but I can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed by the Doctors capture of Demons Run, it's like there wasn't enough build up for me for it to feel properly important.

I'm also curious, while the various favours he calls in are new characters to the TV series (except blue dude), might some of them have been based from Smith-era novels? (I don't necessarily expect an answer, just thinking out loud)

Also, it can't have been young River inside the astronaut suit that shoots the Doctor, as adult River was both surprised and fired shots at the spaceman - pretty sure she'd remember doingsomething like that.

Also also, where/how does adult River sudden appear out of nowhere at the end of the episode?

It's been long established that River has access to a "vortex manipulator", which seems to function as a form of unshielded one-person transport through time. It was used a lot in the The Big Bang.

So yeah I don't know the words to describe my feelings about that episode. On one part it was brilliant and blew me away, but I also am sort of depressed that I have to wait until September to see how this arc plays out.

What I want to know is. Is this something Moffat had planned since Forest of the dead?

I had the exact same thought. I reckon he must've had the though going at least somewhat at the back of his head.

I think that's just a limitation of it being a 45 minute episode, not a 3 hour feature film. Having a bigger build up alongside all the other stuff happening in the episode, there just wasn't enough time to do it. I think you just have to accept it as part of the mythos of Matt Smith doctor, as well as the general Doctor Who mythos, that this is a big thing.
