How many participants is the minimum for an orgy?

I've always wondered how many you really need to call it an orgy. Often I've ripped one of those things off the tackboard at the grocery store, advertising an orgy, and it's just two couples having sex in the same room. That is NOT an orgy. That's not even a foursome! That's just two separate sex acts.

How many do you think is necessary for an orgy? Or are you the kind of selfish so-and-so who doesn't seek out random group sex and stays at home, having their own cookies?

Well there's often talk of threesomes (3), and occasionally foursomes (4), but rarely do we hear of fivesomes (5) so I think that's where it starts hitting orgy-level of participants. Certainly I'd call 6 people a small orgy, so 5 seems to be about the minimum.

I think it was Benny Hill who liked to say that four is an orgy and three is a awgee, because when there's three the two get together and then the third goes "aw, gee, there's none for me."

I think he just needed some training in logistics.
