I'm now in to hour 3 of my Penn & Teller marathon. I have no regrets. Their movie is pretty funny too so I recommend it to any fans or people who like slightly dark comedy. They're both so young in it!

The thoughts are getting more invasive, yet I've only just bothered to look at any of the stuff the counsellor's given me.

Sorry, referring to a post I made longer ago than I thought.
Suicidal/general depression, and some online self-help workbooks, seeing as they're currently fully booked.

Tsk. You didn't say what I could do to help. Seriously, though, please do what you can to be okay, and let me know if there's ANYTHING I can do. <3

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!
Confession 1) I've been having an incredibly hard time posting anything to the forums lately, and thus haven't. Even this confession has been deleted several times. I've even marked myself as "hide online presence." I've only posted this one because aubergine has been forcing me to grow up, and, well...
Confession 2) I'm broke, and it is all my fault. If I was more responsible, I wouldn't be so fucked, and I know it. I don't know what to do, but I have about 300 dollars left after rent and tuition for next term. No income for four months, and school books and food to buy.
I don't qualify for gov't loans, I and my parents make too much. I can't get a bank loan, I make too little and parents won't co-sign.
I can't declare independance from my parents, or I'd lose my resp (school savings), around 10,000 dollars. Which I can't get more of till September.
I'm lost...

Can you switch up your course load and work? Or take a semester off? Qualify for bursaries (just apply for any you can - you'd be surprised)? Work study? Male prostitution?

speak with the financial aid office. In my experience, they're very interested in you being able to continue school and will try and help you to work something out, even if it's tutoring between classes or some other such work-study.

Dreamer: could you not offer (paid for, obv.) tuition to undergrads?
Confession: A few weeks I was attracted to someone. Someone I know, vaguely... in passing. After chatting with my closest friend about it, and what he thought I should do, I'd decided not to do anything about it.
I get what he meant, and after thinking on it for a few days I no longer feel as attracted to this person. Don't get me wrong, she's attractive, funny, cute, and totally my type. But I think I wasn't as attracted to her as I thought I was, you know? For one thing, I don't really know her (as in: "I know this person, and we're friends" know her), more know of her.
I don't want that to come off as condescending or pedantic, but it's kinda how I feel.
Although, I do feel as though I'm missing out. I mean, it's spring. That's when most species pair up. I suppose I don't wanna spend another summer doing stuff by myself*.

Claim that you were at the hospital. Where you were kidnapped by ninjas. Who were on fire.

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!
Thanks for the supportive messages guys.
It was a tough weekend. He ended up going into the hospital on Friday evening, with breathing problems. By Saturday morning (we all stayed with him overnight), we were told that there was very little that they could do as the meds weren't taking effect. From then on we were given "We'll see how he is in a few hours" for almost a whole a day.
He went peacefully (at least, as peacefully as you can go when a machine is breathing for you) in his sleep early on Sunday morning.
The nurses did a great job of taking care of him (and a few upset members of the extended family that showed up, "Can't you do something, anything!?", etc). They really are an amazing bunch.

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!
GaProgMan, my condolences, I've been in a similar suitation and I know how much it sucks. regardless of how your feeling now I can garuntee that you WILL feel better after a while.
I confess that i was supposed to be in college today and I'm missing a maths class, mainly because I can't be bothered. I'm on a science access course that SHOULD enble me to go on to do an engineering degree at university. Right now I'm wondering if there's any point. I can understand the physics but my maths teacher is shit and I find myself coming out of her lessons feelimg far more stupid than when I went in.
So right now Im just wondering if the last year of work has been wasted.
The fact is that I've been frustrating teachers since primary school, this is all tied into the usual low self esteem issues, Blah blah blah.
Fuck, I just want to go home and go to sleep.

You could always use you're Math lessons in the same way that you're supposed to use University lectures: A starting point for further study.
If you find that you're not understanding something after the teacher has explained it to you, you should either ask the teacher to clarify (never be afraid of asking a question), or look into the topic in your own time.
If the teacher refuses to try and explain it in another way, then (and I'm sorry if I upset anyone with this next comment, but imho it's true) they are a terrible teacher. Either ask a class mate, or try and find someone else who can explain it to you in a manner that you understand - maybe a friend or someone who has taken that class before.
Hope that helps
