2006 here, and can confirm that time spent as a fan is irrelevant. There's only a handful of people still around on the forums from when I started, and I certainly haven't been to any LRR meetups yet.

Some people are regulars within days of when they start posting. Others take longer to feel comfortable in the community (definitely took me a couple years).

I just ate this one chip expecting it to be regularly flavored but my pupils dilated when my taste buds sensed provolone and I literally spun around for a few seconds in slow motion around the kitchen in utter joy.

I feel such a fat bastard.

I think Tapir12 is the only non crew member who still posts somewhat regularly who has been around the forum longer than me. My first video was Door to Door and I joined the forum at the end of April 2005. There are few regulars left from even the Season Three era.

I found the forums intimidating when I joined since it seem like half the forum was the crew and their friend socialising.

Just checked, Tapir joined just as Season 2 was starting. I thought Wraith had been around about the same time but he came 2 years later.

I was rather too intimidated to join any forum when I first found out about LRR. I've been on 3 forums before this, 1 got shut down, I realised after posting twice that I actually had nothing in common with anyone on the second one and I got teased out of posting on the third.

Then, after watching the videos for ages and occasionally browsing the forum, I heard about the 'fan dump' thing and I decided to jump in with both metaphorical feet.

Thank crap you guys either can stand or are too afraid to speak out against my weird sense of humour.

Yeah, I've only been (lurking) around for a couple of seasons, watching Unkippable/LRR/GPLP mostly, and only joined officially earlier this year. So obviously I feel a bit of an intruder.

Shows like Strangers with Candy and The Heart, She Holler have tried to make Amy Sedaris look undesirable and old and ugly.

It never works for me. Even with all that, I still think she's so damn beautiful.

I sometimes feel like my whole life is a giant drawn out episode of me going "Hey everyone! Pay attention to me!" then not knowing exactly what to do when everyone is looking my way.

Well, yeah. You're an actor. That's pretty much your job description.

A disproportionately large amount of my daydreams involve me perpetrating extreme violence. Not on anyone I know, but a handy and suitably deserving target.

Take a polaroid photo of her. Show it to her and say: "You're my waifu!"

Sometimes it seems like drinking makes me a better person. I'm happier, more relaxed, friendlier socially, more openly warm and loving, and I sleep better. It's not even a false happiness, I'm not shitfaced or giddy out of my mind, I'm just not obsessing over every small detail all at once like usual. I stop doubting myself and everyone I love for a moment and instead feel kinda okay about life.

I don't wanna be one of those people, though, who drinks all the time. Not that I'm teetering on the edge of alcoholism or anything, I have about one beer a month, but I often wish it wasn't so hard to be a fully functioning person by other means.

Then again I guess they're probably right when they say nothing worth doing is ever easy. I guess this just goes to show I could be happy if I could defeat the neuroticism.

I know the feeling aubergine. And I think it's actually a good sign.

Alcohol lets you relax a bit more and be yourself. If you're naturally an awesome person you will become more awesome (at least, in the tipsy-zone, in the drunk-zone anything can happen). I think the trick is to learn to get in touch of that part of yourself without alcohol. The fact that it surfaces means it's already there. Just let yourself loose a bit. It will be scary but I think it helps a lot with feeling good about yourself.

As for me... I'm still working on it... Getting better at it though. (I actually hardly touch alcohol nowadays, just a bit for the taste)

It's been years since I was last here, and years since I spent time consuming all of LRR's output regularly. I even missed the Kickstarter, but not because I didn't know about it. I missed the Kickstarter because I got paid late :(

I also can't remember the name of my favourite Yummy's related video. It was Graham in a tent talking about Yummy's new Mosquito spray.

I might have to catch up, this weekend.

The first thing that I've ever seen her in was Strangers with Candy. I now have a hard time believing that she looks any other way.

I've spent my entire life working towards the goal of becoming an attorney. I did everything I was supposed to do. I worked so hard and sacrificed so much in my life for this one goal, which I was assured by society would at least allow me to pay for the things I need, like housing, insurance, and food. Instead, I find out that, despite making barely over what a full time employee does on minimum wage (and I work about 60 hours a week), that my boss cannot afford to pay me after the end of the year. And, there are no jobs out there for attorneys.

I now hate my goal and which I had gone to art school instead.
