Desert Bus 4 Poster

Postby Tally » 31 Oct 2010, 22:05

Poster time, poster time, hey everyone it's promotional poster time! Print it and put it up at school, in your office, in the window of your car, the window of your mom's car, wherever.

Any chance that you can put up posters for the various different times zones, such as GMT?
In England.........

It is poster time! Nice job, Tally.

And, since the relevant Video Discussion thread isn't up yet, nice video!

Yeah, a poster with the time in GMT format would be awesome! Better to have it look professional than for me to print a few out and scrawl over it in marker pen!

Or just download and edit in photoshop. Which I will now do.

Edit:

I have a PSD version saved too for anyone else who might need to edit one. I believe I have the time correct for the UK start.

Actually, I think it might be 3am GMT because they are going from PDT to PST in about a week, so its an hour later than you'd think. At least, that's what this table is suggesting...

Hmm. I'm not sure. It is either 1am or 2am.

Edit: Just checked with timezoneconverter.com that allows you to enter dates and get the right time. It will be 2am GMT at 6pm Canada.

No, you're right, it will be 2am (at least assuming the Desert Bus countdown clock is correct), for some reason I'd got it in my head that it was 7pm not 6pm PST.

@Vigafre: Yeah, we do, but we reverted back to normal time last night, whereas I think you guys make the move next weekend.

Right, right. I was only asking because I was gonna say that by the time DB starts, everyone should be on the same time schedule.

When I'm not feeling so lazy I'll place this on my band's site like I did last year, I guess it's not much, but maybe someone will see it, I'd put one up at work too, but I'd get in the poo :( Keep telling my coworkers though.

Ok, if I get some time (ha, hahahahahahahaha! No seriously, I will try) I'll upload some other time zone versions.

How about you guys tell me which time zones you're looking for at the moment. So list:

Time Zone (PST, GST, etc.) & Translated Time (6pm PST = what in your time zone?)

It's more than likely EST, West Australia, East Australia and New Zealand is needed now.

Also, it occurred to me that I posted the RGB version of the poster, which is great for posting online, but won't necessarily print properly. Therefor I have also posted (back at the top) a CMYK version for printing.

Good Grief. Y'know, I'm tempted to just go with the natural British Columbian attitude that this is the "best place on earth" (which is actually the official slogan - how tacky and offensive is that?!?). Meaning that everyone else can just damn well figure it out because PST time (our time) is the only one that really matters. It being the best place on earth and all.

I jest. I'll see what I can do.

While I'm on the subject though, this is a good read:

And things like this could use some more attention:

Ok, I'm done.

I always preferred "Super, Natural, British Columbia" myself.

Tally, why not just provide a copy with a blank spot for the start time, and people can 'shoop on their own?

Tangential, but is your slogan any worse than mine: "Be ... in this place / Etre ... ici on le peut"?

I am happy to work New Zealand's out. We are 13 hours ahead of GMT, so if you are starting at 2am GMT, we will be starting at 3pm.
