I live in New Zealand where we don't actully celebrate thanksgiving but we currently have someone living with us that is American so that why I had a feast this evening.
Anyways I was having my turkey and pumpkin pie, chatting awway with the people who were near me when someone was staring at the center of the table under the ornament and to everyones amusement there were two bugs (I don't know what species) getting it on to their hearts content in the middle of the table! Gawd was that funny, it may be abit <.< but it was a miracle!
So what did everyone else experience at their thanks giving feast?
Thanks Giving Awesomeness... Bug Edition... Yeah,,, <.<

The students at the Centre are having a Thanksgiving meal Sunday which is Saturday for most of you.

My family's gone through at least a bottle of wine, so everyone's a little tipsy, which is hilarious. =D

Family Thanksgiving on Saturday, traveling so soon after Desert Bus is going to be a pain, but the fried turkey makes it worth it!

I ate dinner a while ago, came back up and watched the end of Desert Bus. My family was okay with that all, especially since I have to work tomorrow for Black Friday.
As for bugs getting it on, I remember one time seeing two bees doing it while on my friend's knee WITH ANOTHER BEE HOVERING A FEW INCHES AWAY WATCHING! The animal kingdom is full of pervs.

Thanksgiving is basically just an excuse I use to cook all day, since I live 1000 miles away from home and don't go home for the holiday.
I made:
Cranberry Sauce with Orange and Honey
Oven Roasted Green Beans with Garlic and Pepper
Cranberry Almond Stuffing
Sweet Potato Casserole with Almond Crumble Topping
Ham (OK I didn't make this one, I bought it)
Pumpkin Banana Tart
Everything turned out well, though I almost burned the stuffing... left it in the oven, forgot about it, and only came back when I thought I smelled something burning. Thankfully, only the edges had started to burn. The rest was perfect!
And then I ate dinner while I watched the end of Desert Bus. It was nice, LRR kept me company all day, so I wasn't lonely. <3

Well we cooked earl had dinner out since 2pm here, and left it out on the table for everyone to munch on throughout the day. It's all in the fridge now.

I had my brother over. This is his first year back from Iraq after two tours, and he was a cook in the military. So, this was his first Thanksgiving in seven years that he didn't have to cook, lol. He brought his wife over and two dogs and it was just a great time with my dad and my mom. My dad has kidney failure (stage 4), diabetes, biploar, and other things, so he wasn't even sure if he'd make it this year. He had made it this far and will make it farther. It was a great Thanksgiving meal. MMMM HAM!

A bunch of the grad students in the Centre (and a couple postdocs) had a Thanksgiving meal together then watched the original Tron.
