top 5 with Lisa Foiles

Postby Dubious_wolf » 01 Dec 2010, 11:58

So the Escapist... Has this new show and I decided to dismiss it off hand as more of the gaming industry's misogynistic habit's.
But I thought hell I'll watch it and see.
I believe my first judgement was correct, and that this is the Escapists version of that girl on G4. Anyway I was curious what you all thought about this recent endeavor.
(The only reason I brought this over here instead of the Escapist is that they frighten me.)

My first thought upon seeing it crop up on the front page is "Hey, isn't that the blond chick from The Angry Joe Show?" Beyond that, meh. It's not a bad show, but then again it isn't anything awe-inspiring either. I'll at least give it a few more episodes before I pass judgment.

Also, at the end; KITTY!

I have no opinion of the show. Need to see more before I can decide.

Ok that's fair some of these series do get better with "age" so to speak.
It also felt hugely faked. The significants of the "I don't know how to end/begin" seemed useless.
As did the two guys.
Although Calvin and Hobbs shirt was win.

I think a few more episodes will establish a target audience. If it's solely for hormone driven teens then I won't be watching, but if there's some content in there along with the hormone driven teen theme then I'll probably queue it up. Let's face it, ENN would lose at least a handful of viewers if Kathleen started wearing baggy sweatshirts each episode.

Well, that wasn't terrible. but I think it needs some time. The list video has never exactly been my cup of tea, but I made it most of the way through, before I ran out of patience and skipped to the end. Don't think I'll be checking up on this one weekly, but it shows some potential.

Like the others said, would have to see more of it. But at the moment it seems she's milking the cute and sexy a tad much. But she might grow into it so who knows.

Hell when yahtzee started some people might have said "who's that idiot babbling into the mic like he's on speed"

It wan't quite as rubbish as I expected, but really I think this sort of thing belongs to youtube with all the other inane contentless vlogs or whatever they are called these days.

It's a great idea with poor execution. I'll still watch it and see how it improves.

Not horrible and not great, but really too early to say.
We'll see how it goes.

I'll give her another chance or two, if she tones it down a bit. The shrill excitement was a bit much in places. I would also hardly call it a reasonable trade-off for ENN, but then I'm biased. :P

It seems to be targeting the "Teens" audience, especially with the inclusion of bayonetta, that was a bit too obvious.
If they keep on doing things like this, I'm going to ask The Escapist if they could include a block option on the video menu.

If it does prove not to target the sexually deprived teens and actually gets interesting or has a point and a purpose (not likely, I can see where this thing is probably going, and it's not in that direction) then I might consider watching some more of it and forming a decent opinion.
The only ones that face reality are the ones too stupid to duck when they see it coming!

...If you guys think that's what a depraved teen is going to be watching, you need to meet more depraved teens.

The sex in that is so subtle compared to the rest of the fucking internet I was wondering what you all were on about.

I mean, the miniskirt might be over the top, but I only even noticed that in the bit with the kitty, not during her actual count...up...thing...

And it had it's funny points.

There's a sort of charming awkwardness to it that I like. I'm not sure it works, really, but I like it. That's why I want to see more of it - if they play up the tongue-in-cheek awkwardness of the absurdity of doing video-game themed top 5 fashion lists (or whatever), they could seriously go somewhere fun with this. Alternately, they could crash, burn and get very stale very quickly.

Also, the miniskirt gets a major thumbs up from me.
MAJOR thumbs up.

To be sure, I enjoyed the way she looks. She is very attractive and the clothes displayed her very pleasing features. :)

after totally not an unsettling ammount of internet creeping, i found out she played "Female Malcolm" in the imagined alternate reality episode of Malcolm in the Middle. That was pretty rad.

Talking about videogames while in a miniskirt is never, EVER a bad thing in any capacity.

I didn't know this series had anything to do with video games. I thought the first video was just listing sexy glasses.

Eh, I still don't think I'll watch it. Whether or not it's on purpose, I don't find titillation an appealing pull factor.

Any sexual innuendos you take from that last sentence is your fault.

Then have I got the pitch for you!

We take 3 hairy, overweight men, stuff them in miniskirts and have them talk about video games in between physical challenges. They'll be mud wrestling, pillow fighting, braiding each others' back hair, doing competitive strip teases and shaving each others' chest hair. All in the name of spicing up those boring old video game reviews!
