And you would be totally correct:

The Yule Log was created in 1966 by Fred M. Thrower, President and CEO of WPIX, Inc. Inspired by an animated Coca-Cola commercial a year earlier that showed Santa Claus at a fireplace, he envisioned this television program as a televised Christmas gift to those residents of "The Big Apple" who lived in apartments and homes without fireplaces. This also provided time for employees of the TV station to stay home with their families, instead of working for the usual morning news program.

One of the things I'm the most sad about every year since I moved out to NYC is that I never get to see the Yule Log because I'm always in California for Christmas.

I would totally buy that. You've found a neiche in the market there, Jim, and you could even take advantage of it if you've got access to a camera that can record video, some stationary supplies, a printer, and a computer that can edit video and burn DVDs. ;D

This was in that one LRR vid, right? With the switching back and forth and the bad Christmas specials?

Yes, the 2007 Christmas Special, which is where I got the idea.

I'd settle on 'sawsomed' as a compromise.

I'm all for this. It's the 21st century (hell, mid 20th century) equivalent of paying to go see a public bonfire.
Would you like to buy a short story anthology? Good, cos I made one.

Things are constantly burning around me on Christmas, why would I need some fake fire? And you never need to buy firewood if you have a chainsaw and a shaky moral compass.

My Happy Tree Friends DVD, you know the show about the violent death of cartoon animals, also has an animated yule log special feature on it. It's just that much better when it's animated.

The fire log is ppv only if you order it through Shaw on Demand (and as previously mentioned it's only $1 and all of it goes to charity... how is that not in the spirit of christmas). Plus it is still on 24/7 for free in both standard and high definition on the Frame channel until a couple days after christmas. I don't see the big problem here...
