Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
BEST WEEKEND EVER. Also quite possibly the most awesome Saturday night ever.
I had other things to say, but... yeah, no words, it was just all so awesome. Wish I hadn't had to head home early today though. I discovered I really like watching people play Magic! (I don't play myself, living in a town with no public transportation when one doesn't drive makes it hard to find people to play with, but... I almost feel morally obligated to start putting together some sort of deck now.)

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
It's kinda of weird, meeting people you know from an online community in person. All you have is an ASCII string of characters and a general personality of text to go by. That's not to say the relationships can't be meaningful, just that it's one context colliding with another.
I've not been in these forums too long, so I was excited just to meet fellow forumites for the single reason of meeting people and seeing who is cool to talk to and who's not. The answer to the former is everyone, and the latter is unsurprisingly no one.
Was a blast talking with all of the forumittes who made it (And nice to meet some of you who will be hosting Alphie), and nice to meet Paul/Graham/Kathleen as well. The second half of PaxEast seemed to be a mini LRREast con in its own, and I don't think I've enjoyed myself just 'hanging out' at a con like I did with this group.

Guys, really, it was awesome. It was great hanging with some of you, and seeing others again. It was like a big ol' family reunion, but, you know, you like your family.
Seriously, this is a fantastic community, don't ever change. I love you man!

My lunch at the train station.
The meetup.
I don't buy much, other than food. I bought blank d6es, which is cool. But every time I leave home, I try to bring home a gift for those waiting for me.
Tonight, you shall eat like kings.
"You eat first, my son."
omnomnom
Yeah, I had fun. And I'm tired.

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
Thanks to everyone for making this one of the best weekends ever. Seriously this was absolutely amazing! Just the chance to hang out with the cast and some of the forum-goers was absolutely awesome already, but to get the chance to play against the burly kittehs deck and to participate in the single most epic game of magic I have ever played was beyond great. Hopefully you (the cast) can find an excuse to come back out here before next year's PAX, and hopefully we (the Northeast LRR Crew) can keep in touch and meet up for drinks more often.
I promise to post more on the forums so I'm not just some anonymous tag-along from now on

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
Man, this was one awesome weekend. As I write this I'm sitting in Logan Airport typing away on my phone, waiting for the long trek home to begin.
I had an amazing time hanging out with the likes of TomBrend (whose hospitality is unparalleled) and Jillers...meeting people like Ditto and davefp was awesome, if not too short of an interaction for my liking. I'm sad that I missed the meetup, but I was in a panel about getting a writing/marketing job in the industry.
The highlights for me this weekend were:
- getting an elbow bump from the
one and only Tim Schafer
- playing The Darkness 2 (yes there is a comment about the number of times Jackie died right at the beginning)
- playing a dungeon delve and winning some shwag.
- seeing the upcoming D&D virtual table in action
- seeing the first 6 minutes of Portal 2
Its gonna be tough to top this weekend.

It was really great meeting everyone too! I'm so sorry, I'm terrible with names, so I'm not entirely sure who I talked to! Anyways I was the short, red-hair-in-a-ponytail chick
I too will try to post more and not be a semi-lurker! I have some photos and video of the LRR panel too that I'm working on prepping for the webs.

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
I'm glad I got the chance to meet all of you. I'll admit, every time before the meetup that I saw Graham Paul and Kathleen, I was stricken with crippling shyness and never actually said hello. But then at the meetup, it was wonderful to arrive and have Kathleen recognize me automatically.
In all seriousness, there were a few times on Friday when I thought to myself "is it worth it to be here? Did I waste my time and money coming to PAX?" But from my roommates to the LRR meetup, I discovered that it really was where I belonged. Thanks for a great weekend guys!

Hello Boston!!
Sign outside the LRR panel Saturday night. Oh, those silly Enforcers
From the Magic Playtime - Sunday afternoon
Had a lot of fun you guys! Sadly I don't play Magic right now, but I want to look in to it and see if it's something I could get into. Can't wait for next PAX!

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
So like, uhm, PAX... WHOA!
Big thanks to AlexanderDitto, tak197, and Yaxley for making RRPT a whole lot of fun. Particularly Yaxley for being my con buddy while the other two were busy although that's balanced out by his M:TG enabling. CURSE YOU!!! (now I need to find casual players in Toronto...)
I can't describe how awesome it was to hang out with all of you guys along with Graham, Paul, and Kathleen. Saturday night in particular was quite memorable. Although someone please remind me not to have 2.5 pints of beer on an empty stomach at PAX ever again.
I'm going to try to do this again next year. Check out my Twitter for some pics too!

Hmm, I wonder if LackeyCCG can do multiple players for online games of Pentagram...

Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
aeric...didn't you know that drinking 2.5 pints of beer on an empty stomach is the shortest possible path to #winning?
Re: Official LRR @ PAX East Thread
Oh man, this weekend was so amazing. I might even be able to explain how awesome it was at some point if I ever stop WHARRGARBLING and get a good night's sleep. I've had three Red Bulls just to get through work.
While I am an enabler, I posit that, because of that Primeval Titan you pulled, you actually made money playing Magic.
At least so far...
MWAHAHAHAHA!

By the way Aeric, what was the title and artist of that song you played for us on Sunday night? It's stuck in my head now.

It was "Les Fesses" by Yvon Deschamps.

Watch it. Joille (Quebec dialect) does not translate well.

Most of my photos are crap (I hate my point-and-shoot) and I'll post them tonight, but I'm stalking the PA boards for people posting their photos, trying to find good ones.

Also, I'm sorry I didn't end up hanging with RRPT on Sunday night! I wanted more hangouts, but all I had the energy for was dinner and some board games.
