Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, YES!

So, SonataArctica is releasing a new album, in may.
The albums track list includes Wildfire II and Wildfire III. Possible continuation of Reckoning Nights? OH GOD YES ALL MY MUSIGASMS!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they've broken their own site by posting that facebook announcment since it's been down all day.

Been listening to Art Ensemble of Chicago since seeing Roscoe Mitchell last week. Here they are with Cecil Taylor. And here's the man himself solo.

Also, a lot of Macronympha on the go in prep for seeing them next week. Andy Bolus from Evil Moisture joins Joe Roemer and Rodger Stella here for a bit of added welly.

So much Dispatch. I'd heard The General, thought it was a great song, even, but for some reason I'd never listened to the rest of their discography. So good.

Most days, I'll put my iTouch on random and just deal with it. This week, until yesterday that is, I've been going back to 大発見 (Dai Hakken) by 東京事変 (Tokyo Jihen).

However, this morning I decided to set the unoffical Shadow Man* soundtrack going, and it was amazing.

* It was posted up on Facebook, a few years back, by Tim Haywood (the composer of the soundtrack, that is). The whole thing can be found on Soundcloud here for free.

The music from Oblivion and Skyrim. It's so damn beautiful and serene it brings me to tears.

Mass Effect 3 soundtrack. Specifically Stand Strong, Stand Together and The Fleet Arrives. People who have played it know what I'm talking about.

A friend of mine loves Cannibal Corpse, so needless to say I'm slowly accepting more and more of their music and that musical genre.

I stumbled across a Verve album I have on my iPod. I've been listening to that a lot lately, mostly because it brings back childhood memories.

Also, Manic Street Preachers (their later stuff) and the Sounds. It's good stuff.

Recently, I re-discovered The Cardigans "My Favourite Game". this made me get all obsessive about their albums (I'd never owned one, other than their "Best of CD" from a few years back).

I've gotta say, I love their cooky, almost experimental stuff.

Sonata Arctica's new album has... Banjo's?
That's generally not an instrument contained in Finnish Power Metal.

Ok, I probably should have jumped on the this thread long ago... That said probably won't be making another post anytime soon...

That is because Mudvayne are lodged pretty firmly in my head... you could even say they are "Nailed inside my head!" (For those that don't know, opening line from Under My Skin, one of the songs stuck in my head :P )

Mostly been listening to L.D.50 and End of All Things to Come albums... but specifically songs...

-1 is awesome and when listened to in album order nicely leads into...
Death Blooms... I also like the Video but unfortunately that's censored :( anyway I've fallen head over heals in love with this track, it may have taken top spot for my favorite song...
Mercy, Severity.

That'll do for now...

JoCo's Dissolve (form Artificial Heart).

So much so that I'd learnt to play it (admittedly on my bass guitar) after the 4th time iTunes had played it.

Yes! My word, I've had a godaweful day and I just put that album on and I can feel my breathing's steady, my heart's calm, I even start to smile again.

Anyone with a love of proper oldschool jazz (I don't hold with any of that smooth jazz nonsense) HAS to at least hear this album through once, even if you think I'm wrong after you've heard it

Dunno whether this has been previously mentioned, but had the privilege of seeing Keiji Haino back in February. Turns out Fushitsusha are back on the rails after ten odd years and they'll be in the country in October. Damn if I ain't gonna be there.
