I've been listening to this song a lot lately (Male Bonding- Bones): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXrwKOOacEw

I've also been listening to the new Coldplay album a lot, even though it isn't that good really.

Huh. Can't believe I never saw this thread before. I listen to a veeeeeeeery wide variety of music. Seriously - I will listen to (nearly) ANYthing once. Hmmm....here's three that come to mind:

Foo Fighters - Arlandria

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkHp_JLtxck

Wasn't totally sure about this particular track at first but now I actually really like it. The Foo Fighters in general are pretty damn awesome - especially live (though I've not had the pleasure of seeing them live myself yet). Another of their tracks worth listening to is 'Rope'.

RENT - La Vie Boheme

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czJHTEeEJmU

So much love for this film (and the stage show). Seriously, if you've not seen RENT yet you need to. It's a pretty poignant film too given the state of the economy etc.

WOODKID - Iron

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSkb0kDacjs

Absolutely love this track. It was featured on the trailer for Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Lately I've been obsessed with this tune by young jazz guitar god Mike Moreno. If you haven't heard of him, you'll surely be blown away by his great ideas, creative chord structures, and technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm7NSua8X98

Also, this live version of Flight of the Conchords' Business Time is simply epic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48-niUIwVSQ&list=LLplMgnLADTX6Xo_CPKiOAQw&feature=mh_lolz

The music of Les Miserables. Saw it for the first time about 6 weeks ago and basically love the whole thing. There's a cracking HD rip of the 25th anniversary concert at "The O2" (millennium dome) last year on youtube: part 1

Since it was on Desert Bus I haven't been able to stop listening to it:
Caravan Palace - Suzy
There's this one, which starts with an accent I always find amusing but then I find myself really liking the song. I absolutely love the chorus:
The Crüxshadows - Deception
Then there's some of the stuff I was introduced to by Sanctuary Radio recently:
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch
Cocteau Twins - Cherry Coloured Funk
(Note to those unfamiliar with Sanctuary Radio: those are two of the lighter offerings from Sanctuary, which plays an... eclectic range of alt music)

Man...the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers theme was METAL. Well, maybe not some of the lyrics, but for the most part

I've started to listen to metal a bit more recently. Mostly Metallica, Tool, Isis, Queens Of the Stone Age (though I guess they're kinda debatable if they're metal). I feel the need to listen to more.

Periodically I go through a phase where I'll just listen to different musical soundtracks over and over while I drive places. And so I've been doing that, which has gotten me wicked into Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and RENT all over again.

Rocky Horror Show

I had the... pleasure? No, the HONOR, of working on this production (see YT link). You see all those pretty lights, strobe flashes, fancy chasing lights (a la Night Rider). I had to program EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. Opening night was amazing. I never wanted the show to close. But recently, I've been yearning to re-watch the archival DVD of the show. Although, having to wait until I have enough free time to watch it is filling me with this antici...

Catching Secret Chiefs 3 live at Supersonic last month proved to be the impetus to finally getting into them after all this time. Specifically hearing this rendition of Halloween live.

The same weekend in Brum also resulted in an obsession with Alva Noto's uni acronym. Specifically hearing (and seeing, you'd expect nothing less from a visual aesthete like Carston Nicolai) this live.

It's not music, but I've been listening to a lot of (the 1988 run of) Saturday Night Fry. To be honest, it's linked with my current re-viewing sessions of "A Bit of Fry & Laurie"

Music-wise, as I've mentioned on twitter, I seem to be getting into the Blues recently. It's not something that I'd usually listen to, as a genre, but I really like what I've heard so far.

Yes, I've gotten into it via Hugh Laurie (and his amazing blues album "Let Them Talk"), and I'm only just starting to learn about the genre as a whole. But as Hugh says, "There are no real divisions to music - no genres, so to speak. There is only Good Music and Bad Music".

I've been listening to Robert Johnson's complete recordings as an entry into (for want of a better word) classic Blues. So many great songs. I think my favourite is "They're Red Hot", it's such a fun sounding song.
