Not only is 'Oh My God' by Cults a very good song, but the video Adult Swim made for it is insanely good once it gets going

Re: Current Musical Obsession!
That title only makes me think of a song that was a nominee to represent us in the Eurovision contest.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J98-P5dQxdU - Oh My God by The Moniker. Very Uplifting song, really. <3
The Cults 'Oh My God' is also good, but that paticulare song (at least) is a bit too slow paced and mundane.
Will definetly remember them for the future though, sound like they would be a brilliant band to just mellow out and relax to. =]

Re: Current Musical Obsession!
Lately I've been all about Anamanaguchi, especially since the song "Airbrushed" was released for Rock Band.
Since we've been blessed with a bit of sun for once, I've been rocking out to my summer playlist - lots of ska and upbeat punk.
Favourites at the moment are "Bright Spring Morning" by Suburban Legends, and "What's Goin' On?" by Zebrahead.

I know what you mean about the summer playlists. At the moment I'm just settling with the albums I bought/listened to last summer to get me in the mood. Mainly Smith Westerns' self-titled and Mystery Jets' Serotonin.

Bad Things by Jace Everett
Most likely known to most as the theme to True Blood.
If there's a sexier song in existence .. please don't tell me, I'd die if I ever heard it. I'm close enough to the edge right now.

The Theme To Fargo.
Why had no one ever recommended this movie to me before? I already loved all of their films that I have seen, but I'm now on a Coen Brothers film binge to see the rest.

Hells yeah, they rock. Sxip Shirey is one of the most inventive musicians I know of. That EP has been my alarm clock for a while now.

Oh I knew the title. I was quite impressed the first time I heard it, and it often worms itself into my playlists.

Recently went on a Oneohtrix Point Never binge. I blame seeing Daniel Lopatin live last week. Also, Games.
You'd think, given that the quantity of Merzbow youtube videos rivals the size of Masami Akita's discography, that people would reference a wide variety of clips, but no, people always use that one.

On a bit of a Chemical Brothers binge lately. Especially tracks from We Are The Night and Further, such as The Salmon Dance and Escape Velocity respectively.

Re: Current Musical Obsession!
I really, really hate almost all of Radiohead's stuff. And that's not a generalisation. I've listened to most of their albums multiple times, being told by my friends that I'm just not 'getting it' and that they're 'growers'. But I just hear drab moaning on top of plinky plonky guitars and out of time drums.
That said, No Surprises and Karma Police are probably two of my favourite songs of all time. Why can't you do more of them, Radiohead?

This.
I also recently read a review of their latest work on Wired. The reveiwer was in depressed hysterics, and wondered if it was "the death of the album" or something to that effect. No sir, this has been happening for a long time. Almost all bands gravitate towards a shorter, simpler style after periods of experimentation. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesen't, and sometimes it's actually temporary.

Chiptune. So much chiptune. I can't stop myself. I just love it.
Example: Brown Eyes by TREYFREY
Additionally, and on/off forever it would seem, Where Is My Mind.

Often outnumbered, never outpunned.
Note: in Ireland 'ye' is used as the plural of 'you'. It rather neatly avoids confusion online.

Re: Current Musical Obsession!
My current musical taste (not really an obsession) is pretty much anything from the 60s, 70s and 80s, you know when music was actually made for the sake of music and not just monies. A little strange seeing as i never grew up then but Tarantino films (DEFINITE OBSESSION) introduced me to music of this time. Seriously if anyone wants to hear some awesome music check out the soundtracks for: Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vols 1 & 2 and Death Proof. ENJOY! x
